Really liked the Marty Mornhinweg segment. He's got an excellent feel for what to say and how to say it.
What he said was that he trusts the players on the field. Then he went into a description of coaching that basically revolved around instruct, correct and repeat in an endless progression. It's a great coaching mantra, a coach is always going to be teaching, correcting mistakes and then making sure through repetition that the mistakes don't keep happening. Left unsaid was that if mistakes keep happening, well you have to have players you trust on the field.
Not really. It's funny when a Jets coach says too much he gets criticized, when he says too little he gets criticized. It's kinda silly to assume that based on what he said.
How did I criticize him??? The point is that he clearly doesn't trust Sanchez or he would have just said he did.
You said that the coach NOT saying something indicated a negative. Must be. You say it so it's true. I just think that's a pure assumption, nothing more. But that's cool, I just don't agree.
I don't think you have very good reading comprehension skills. You are imagining things. We can disagree. But why wouldn't he just say he trusted Sanchez if he did?
Because he doesn't trust Sanchez , How can anybody trust Sanchez based on his body of work.I have 52 reasons in 2 years why not to trust Sanchez I'm sure The whole coaching staff feels the same way. It's like agreeing to let your druggie freind watch your house while your away, just because he has been clean for 6 months doesn't mean you can forget about the last 4 years of lying, stealing and everything else,So
I think his biggest indictment of his lack of trust in Sanchez is the fact that after his redzone blunders, Marty didnt have Sanchez attempt even a single pass in the redzone after that, and thats with him playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers.
Actions speak louder than words, or lack there of. Marty clearly doesn't trust Sanchez. I still think it comes down to whether Geno is ready or not. It's hard to tell if he is without seeing him in more preseason action. I'm sure the coaches think he's at least close or they would have already ended the competition. It's very beneficial to have whoever ends up being the starter take as many snaps as possible in the new offense.
If healthy I can't see any way possible that Geno can't beat out Captain Headband. Part of me wants to have Marky start the season just so Geno can be brought in to clean up his inevitable mess and we'll be done with him forever as the starting QB. The problem with that though is how many loses will have to accrue before the tat master has seen enough. With Geno in the mix is it even remotely possible Rex can spew, "Mark gives us the best chance to win..."?
People are living in a fantasy land if they think, for 1 split second, that Gino is in any position to beat out Sanchez for the opener. With really just l 1 game left ( the 4th is nothing but cannon fodder). Based on what? So far he's played against 2nd stringers for 1-2 quarters of preseason football and has looked so-so in some plays and indecisive in others, with a basic vanilla offense. What's is he capable of against 1st stringers? You can pretty much wipe the season off as 2-14 if he is in - Rex will be fired and another new coach to be used a a pin cushin will come in.. only good will come of it is a high draft pick but you better pray it's the number 1 in order to get the QB we all sought after.
I guess the coaches are living in fantasy land too since they haven't decided who there starting QB is yet. Obviously Geno has to play against the 1's and do well in week 3 to have a shot at being the starter. I think it's foolish to think there's no window for Geno here.
I'm living in fantasy land. Its great here. Russell Wilson is the Jets QB and Rex is fat as a balloon.
