So when Sanchez gets cut at the end of this year, are you guys going to go troll the forums of whatever team he becomes a backup for?
I wonder how many Sanchez fans (not Jets fans) will leave if/when he gets cut. It may not be the mass exodus that was Tebow fans but it may be noticeable.
No. He would not. The DLman is almost in the EZ, If he runs, the OL disengages, holding the ball keeps the block going. One more step into the EZ, and you are looking at a safety call. Morningwood should have hit him with a bat. The missed throw excusable. Almost giving up 2, not so much.
Ok. 10 of 13 looks good on paper. 4 of those throws were 20 plus yards, and a fifth, was 18. But I guess that just looks good on paper. 10 completions. Half for close to or better than 20 yards apiece. You are descending into self ridicule.
There are, approx 6 of us. And unlike the haters, we are all Jets fans. Not Sanchez fans. I wonder how many "Jets" fans will act like the last 6 months didnt happen, when he makes it impossible to cut him. When the Jets are at 3-1, 90 percent will be on the MM appreciation thread, acting like the fact that we have had shit offensive coaching for 7 years, didnt happen. "wow, he really turned Mark around" will be the most commonly posted phrase on this forum.
I hope you get a chance to say "I told you so!", but I also hope some supermodels knock on my front door this afternoon to deliver me a winning lottery ticket.
Comparing a HOF qb worse moments to Sancho's standard level of play? Not sure how that helps ... Let's face it. The real question is not whether Sanchez is good...it's whether he's good enough. Yeah, I heard somewhere that the Jets went to two AFC title games with him under center. But how confident would you be with the Jets trailing by 4 points, 80 yards to go, 1:30 on the clock and Sanchez under center? Some think that's the scenario he'd shine in. Some think he'll never get us there.
How about we compare a HOF QB, to Sanchez, under the same OC? Sanchez, went +6 in 2011, with 32 scores. Tell me about Brett Favre. And, yes...with a decent OC, Id take Sanchez in that spot over everyone not named Rodgers,Brees, brady,Manning. The one thing does right, is make big plays in big spots, if he did it that way, in normal spots we would hardly lose a game.
Like or hate Sanchez does not make you wrong assessment of the throws he made against Detroit any more valid. I am a Jets fan I want to see the Jets do well. When a Jets player does well or makes a good pay I will be happy when they do not I will not be happy. What I won't do is make shit up on some good throws to try make a player I hate look bad. Sanchez has plenty of bad tape than to try to tear down good throws. Sometimes I wonder if some of you are really Pats or Dolphins fans.
I am not sold on Sanchez I think he needs to redeem himself. I think he needs to prove he can hold on to the football. If we are in the AFC championship game with Mark under center then that would would mean Marks has played pretty well and is making another great playoff run. I wold rather have him than most Qbs in the league in that situation. Heck, I wish the D gave him a chance in 2010 in that situation because I was so sure we score if get the ball back in that game.
Again, I don't dispute that the first pass to Powell was not a very good pass. However the other two completions to Powell (one that was disallowed) and the throw to Rueland <sp> were fine passes. The fact that you claim they were off target does not make it true (unless passes right to the chest are off target). Some do not agree with your view of reality.
If Sanchez is cut at the end of the year (which I think is likely) it will be beacuse of throws like the INT, not the "lack of accuracy" shown in his other 12 passes.
yet we beat them on the road in the divisional round- how does that happen. Go look up BB's record w/o Brady and let me know what you find.
I hope you are right. I hope he leads us to a dozen consecutive championships and retires the greatest player to ever play the game...but what one hopes for and reality rarely coincide. For the record I have been all for keeping Sanchez this year although I was doing so because I figured we'd be a bottom feeding team and could draft our franchise QB next year (didn't want Geno) and cut Sanchez in the off season...but we'll see how things pan out.
Those throws he made vs a weak Detroit secondary are fine preseason throws But that'll get you killed when the lights come on For example the throw to Winslow that gained 20 yards is a pick waiting to happen if the LB has a sense of where that ball gets thrown or if that's a safety playing man
