I have no problem with Sanchez starting for different reasons. Number 1 Geno is hurt so its no need to rush him at this point. Plus it seems like Sanchez has outplayed Geno this past week.
Guys Geno is hurt. I don't understand what the problem is here. Don't let Hobbes convince you that this was never a competition and that Geno didn't have a fair opportunity to dethrone King Nacho. Their play in TC was practically identical, and they both had their fair share of ups and downs, but Geno rolling his ankle is the only reason this isn't a competition anymore. Let Mark start the season. My money is on him being the same ol guy we've seen the past 2 and a half seasons. If he is? Well Eugene will be healthy by then, and we get him out there and see what the Rook can do. Time will only tell, but Sancho is not going to become Tom Brady over the course of one off-season. Geno will get his chance to shine.
Sanchez is starting Sat Night http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/jetsb...geno_may_RiFxPKxJnpT7ktsBqhxgFO#axzz2c2sLWrPa
how dare u bring a sense of logic to this thread..... excluding the hobbes diss, i agree with ur assessment and have a similar opinion.
well i re-watched the lion game from last week on NFL network and was paying close attn to sanchez and i have to tell u folks....a couple good throws mixed in with not so good throws and off course, the INT. even with a decent comp%, he is inaccurate within the numbers and thats gonna crimp the YAC totals for the receivers. YAC is a vital stat in this wc offense. we are gonna see more open receivers than ever so ball placement is of utmost important and sanchez is VERY inconsistent to poor in this category. maybe the lack of confidence in the OL of the last 2 years has contributed to this but i saw the same thing in 09 and 10. of course hoping it would get better with experience but so far, it hasn't. this is the main thing i need to see get better from him.
I have dreams of him throwing nothing but TDs. I get to see him throw picks in real life all of the time!
My problem is, if Geno is so hurt that it affects who starts the game, and ultimately who could win this competition, then why the fuck are the Jets letting him practice?
And it is a guarantee that he will be allowed to do more on Saturday against the Jaguars, than he was in the victory last year.
That was my thought all week. If Geno's ankle is sprained (even if it's a moderate sprain) why would Rex and MM stress how important it was for him to practice? Especially after seeing how cautious they've been in handling several of the veterans (Ivory, Winslow). I get that he's a rookie and they want to get as many reps out of him as possible, but if Rex is saying "Geno's not close to 100%" it makes me wonder why push it? Everyone knows you cant force the issue with little injuries like these. It just takes time.
imo they wanna give a shot to sanchez its clear , imo im pretty sure sanchez starts week 1 even tho i would prefer otherwise.
