I wonder... if geno couldn't play this week would they let him start week 3?

unorthodox to let things stay in flux that long, I know, but would they consider it? if only to give geno a big chance to prove himself?

I'm assuming that the decision isn't made because they haven't seen enough in this scenario (and by extension questioning if it wouldn't be over by default)

you really over estimate Sanchez, at best the team gets off to a 2-2 start. I'm personally predicting 1-3 if Sanchez is the starter.

This Brady shit is bitter sweet

On one hand a man is hurt and I never wish for that

On another we could have a shot at the division(like Hobbes said)

Vegas odds have the Bucc's favored, very slightly, vs the Jets in week one at -1 for the Jets. Basically a coin toss.

yeah... i know what you mean.

I grin a little because that means they'll likely be worse off, then feel bad about it because he's a human being... just back and forth.

I love these fans who are rioting for a fair qb competition and then when geno has a lousy day they just shrug and tell us that geno should start regardless of his poor performance. HAHAHAHA !!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Totally agree with you. Bleedinggreen put forth an excellent post summarizing what many of us have been saying.

The absolute best possible scenario for the Jets in the near term is for Sanchez to play lights out. With a new real OC that can spread the field and keep the D guessing, and a stronger running game to mix it up we WILL compete and surprise a few teams. If Sanchez can show consistency and avoid those crazy mistakes that not only kill the momentum but cost us games we will have a winning season. If not then he is done and in all likelihood so are the Jets.

Geno is the future, but not quite the instant starter some were hoping. His learning curve was way too steep and even though he picked up faster than expected he has a way to go. We must accept the fact that while he was a draft steal, he was not selected as a ready now NFL QB. Lets face it, perhaps most of us were secretly hoping that he would surprise us all with a quantum leap into NFL readiness but that might be wishful thinking. We are still hoping however to see more of him during pre-season if healthy enough to play.

Getting Sanchez back on track should be a blessing we should all embrace. Geno sitting on the sidelines and practice with the vigor and learning speed he has demonstrated, can only help him with his readiness, continue to improve and get him positioned to take the team on his shoulders. Geno's future is bright from the early indications, so lets not rush to conclusions and help screw it up.

I too hope and wish that this year we see improvements and maturity and don't fall back to the Sanchez of 2012, because patience is running thin and jobs are on the line. If Sanchez wants to save his career, the time is now. His performance is under the micro scope and his future is now.

We would have a definite shot at the division and i think we can go 9-7 or 10-6 without Brady on the pats..

Buffalo would give us our toughest opponent, i think they can be a 9-7 team.

Miami sucks with no OL, no run game and the pressure of the world on an average QB, they go 4-12...

Pats without Brady could still pull off a 8-8 record maybe 7-9...

Things didnt change when he got injured. If things changed, he wouldnt be practicing. Its a load of crap if they say he isnt starting with the 1s because of his ankle injury, meanwhile they are sending him out the in practice every single day. They would look like fools. You can evaluate Geno more in a real game, rather than in a scripted practice.

At this point, his injury should have no affect on who starts.

What dont you get that a QB doesnt play against a QB? Brady, Peyton, Rivers ect are all better than Sanchez, but we beat them because they played our defense and Sanchez played theirs.

It does not matter whether or not Sanchez and our O are better than Freeman. It matters if Sanchez is better than TB's defense and our defense is better than Freeman and the rest of their O.

Like you said, dont embarrass yourself. The reason why we have had our success in 2009 and 2010 is because our defense played against the other teams O and vice versa. If the games were solely dependent on which QB is better, there's no way we make either AFCCG, and I doubt we even make the playoffs.

I'll bet the chopper is the Pats security guys trying to confiscate the video of Brady going down clutching his knee. The "oh noes" in the video are the guy filming it and his wife as they see the security team landing and sprinting towards them to get the film.

So tired of Jet fans acting as if they'll feel sorry if something were to happen to Brady because the division becomes "weaker" due to a Tom Brady injury. Please, give me a break. As if NE fans "felt sorry" for our team, fan base or franchise when the likes or Revis and Holmes went out for the season. Do I wish injury upon Brady? No, but if hurt, I hope he stays down. I couldn't care less if he never got back up either. He's 36 years old so I personally can't wait until New England's era is over and done with in regards to having Tom Brady under center. Hopefully that fan base/franchise will suffer as the Dolphins and Bills have since losing Marino and Kelly ala trying to find a franchise quarterback for the next 10-15 years. So if injury forces Brady into retirement sooner rather than later, then so be it. I'll enjoy every second of it as a Jets fan. Regardless at 36 he's on the verge of being gone. But to feel bad for a Tom Brady injury? Never. This man along with NE's franchise is our enemy (football wise). I look forward to the day he hangs it up (he's been and/or is that great).
