    Rex does it again

Geno has a bad, bad practice and he calls it brutal

Sanchez has a 3 pick practice early, yeah we gotta take better care of the ball

Lets be clear this competition has been BS like Hobbes said

Sanchez gets 3 series with the 1s(an extra after blowing the first 2) and a redo in the G&W scrimmage after shitting the bed

While Geno gets 1 series, spotty play calling the next 2 and dumped on every time he has an off day

The CS has put Geno in a spot where he has to play mistake free football

A pick from Geno, he's not ready, brutal day, taking sacks, he's not ready but seeing the same shit from Mark, oh we've just gotta take better care of the ball, etc

Sanchez is starting week 1, he'll have my support until if he fucks up big time but the mere fact that this competition has be uneven is BS to me

Speaking after Wednesday's practice, Jets coach Rex Ryan hinted Geno Smith (ankle) could miss Saturday's preseason game against the Jaguars.
"Well, I guess, we’ll see how it goes," Ryan said. "He’s been out there practicing, working through things ... but that could be a possibility." Smith has been struggling through practice since rolling his ankle in last week's opener, but has yet to miss a rep. It now sounds like the Jets should have let him rest. Of course, that would require Gang Green having a clue about handling quarterbacks.

If this is true, then Geno should just sit the rest of the week.

I think this ultimately is idzik's decision. While I tend to agree here, if Geno is healthy and plays well Saturday and Week 3, I think he could still start.

This is a very accurate call out of Rex. He just doesn't have in him to ever say a bad word about Sanchez, despite the fact that he's the worst starter in the league.

Dude, you're reading too much into it. They are going to start whoever they think gives them the best chance to win, and the decision will not be solely made by Rex.

that is a massive reach some of you members are doing regarding what Rex saids. It has been learned long ago to avoid digging deep into what he tells everyone in a press conference. Just because he said Geno shit the bed and he later tells Sanchez he mishandled a ball doesnt me he doesnt rip them both behind close doors. Doesnt mean is favoring the other.

And GENO was scheduled to play more but GOT HURT so he was removed! Obviously...

Who did? Not me. He should have been sidelined after the 4th pick. I was screaming at the TV after that to sit his ass on the bench. We would have won that game if they sat him down. That was a fucking horrible display of ability, rookie or not. Sit him down.

Geno, GMAc, Simms, whomever will get the same scolding from me.

No it's not. It will be the decision from the OC / QB Coach.

What makes you think a GM would pick the starter for the NYJs? He doesn't coach any positions, he buys the groceries and restocks them - that's his job nothing more nothing less.

Right, it was a bad performance that warranted a benching. But he didn't get killed too badly from fans because he was a rookie.

I hate to admit it, but Hobbes is right. This competition is a farce.

I hope he's right about us going 11-5 with Sanchez, then lol

    based on what?

seems like they really do want to see if smith has it in time for september.

theres nothing illegitimate about it as far as I can tell, unless you read into it too much.

I'm speaking in regards to how he handles both QBs in the media

Just like my post is a theory so is yours

I'm just looking at from a different view point

Well never know if either was right or wrong

Because some "Jets Fans" arnt really fans of the Jets. They say they are but like to feed into the drama the NY media feeds them. Junc has hit the nail on the head here, this is a WIN WIN for the Jets. If Mark comes out and plays well, the Jets are most likley wining ball games. If you are a Jets fan, then this is the goal, right?

If Mark comes out and struggles, Geno will get his turn to prove his worth. Now if they both come out and play like shit, then as JETS FANS we should be pissed, as the team will most likley have a losing season...I shake my head sometimes at this fan-base

    It's lopsided to me

An INT for Geno is much more crucial than Sanchez throwing a pick

A TD for Mark is a bigger accomplishment than one Geno throws

Hell they got on Geno for taking sacks and shrugged off Marks pick 6
