Geno has to start on Saturday if he's healthy. All the turnovers do suck, but I'm not worried about it, I'll chalk it up to rookie mistakes. Sanchez on the other hand I don't care if he has a good week of practice. He always has good practices then he shits the bed during real games.
Damn, Geno having a bad day. I hope it doesn't have anything to do with the ankle. I feel like he has to start for this to be a legit competition. It seems like Mark is starting to separate himself. We may see what kind of balls Geno has in the next couple of days.
There were some tweets about his practice yesterday. Saying he looked "quick" which is not something i was expecting but is a pleasant surprise. but maybe they're just used to seeing guys who have been in camp all week and not fresh legs.
Seth Walder First real team drills start from inside the 5 on 2nd down. Neither Geno nor Sanchez score. Geno with 1st tm. #nyj 11:53AM EDT
Chris Lopresti In broad daylight for everyone to see, Santonio Holmes doing 50-60 yard wind sprints. It's only straight-ahead running but looks good. #NYJ
I blame Idzik. Hear me out. Idzik, gets hired, and preaches competition, and signs a fucking cripple, in Garrard, using Wilson to buttresss his argument. When Wilson got drafted, no one said he had a shot at the Job, he just made it happen. When Garrard went down (predictably to anyone with a mind) Idzik was OK. No worries. Idzik knew going in Garrard would not be the starter opening day. It was more or less a ploy to rehab Sanchez image. Then....Geno falls into his lap. Instead of saying, FROM Day 1, lets see how Geno transitions from the WVa offense...he doubles down, on his retarded competition mantra, instead of just letting Geno, follow Wilsons path. So, he basically repeated the retarded Tebow media circus. Not fair to Geno....not by a country mile. For all you Genomaniacs, be honest...does Pinnochio Idziks performance, help...or hurt Geno? I think the added media pressure is harmful. You all know what this media market is. How much extra negative media attention has Smith gotten,(just yesterday, WVa players and coaches saying the kid wasnt a leader, really?????). because Idzik, is basically lying...
Picks aren't helpful no doubt - but if he is healthy enough, let him play through his struggles. More reps will only do him good.
Good news. Though more and more, it seems like the Jets PR department is taking cues from the White House.
so idzik sabotaged geno so sanchez can get the start? so you really do believe the jets are idiots for putting up a false narrative.
i've been saying for a while that this has been over dramatized. this week wind sprints, next week he will be doing individual drills and cutting. holmes has been hamming this up
No, Tony. I dont think he purposely sabotaged Geno. I think it was just a rookie mistake. Best thing for Geno would have been no public expectations, and no media scrutiny. Do you disagree? We now have Rex, calling further attention to reports from WVa, that this kid wasnt a leader? Did he deserve that level of scrutiny? And yes, I think the false narrative was stupid, but...they think the media and fans are stupid. ( and the media is.. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...t-garrard-had-struggled-with-longrange-passes) Yet no one ever asked, how they tried him out and thought him a starter? Please. Once they signed Garrard, the narrative was as transparent as Saran Wrap.
There is a much better chance he plays week 1 than we have to put him on the PUP list and he is out 6 weeks.
I don't know why we can't speculate that: They are being cautious with Geno's ankle. Sanchez separated himself slightly from Geno ^ Are these two statements really all that out in left field? They both seem legit to me. Certainly something I would do. Competition or not I don't want an new investment getting more damaged when its easier to hold him out a game and let the ankle heal. I certainly wouldn't want to head into the season with Sancho, and McElroy as the backup.
