I'll give credit where it's due. EJ did very well for his first game (preseason, but still some live action). Geno also was looking rather well till he rolled his ankle.
http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=330808005 Mingo credited w/ a tackle & 2 qb pressures. I talked to a browns fan recently who said he was also in on one of the first team's sacks(he was at the game) Jones credited w/ 2 tackles(! solo) & the aforementioned fumble recovery. I mention these 2 players as I was apart of a draftboard wide debate that ensued involving the 2 players.
Warmack has been getting killed since the weekend over his performance. Funny how differently people see the same game. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk 4
Really killed? That's a surprise ... http://www.musiccitymiracles.com/2013/8/12/4614990/deeper-look-chance-warmack-preseason-week-1
Week one of preseason is way to early to judge the quality of the players drafted. Let's temper our judgement, cause David Clowney would be a pro-bowl player with his preseason numbers a few years ago.
Great summary. I watched the game and he certainly looked real good to me. The simple fact Shonne Greene was making plays is proof positive.
Clowney was getting his 4th quarter slaughter on. We are talking about rooks playing against starters or a mix of starters and 2s. But I agree that it's just week 1. We'll see who brings it this weekend as well. Hopefully, it will be one of the rooks we actually drafted.
I was impressed with how he looked for the most part, but I wish they would have gone down field more often. I do understand they are trying to ease him in, though.
When watching the JETS-DETROIT replay, 1 guy who stood out was a JETS DRAFT FORUM favorite but got drafted by the Lions ----- Larry Warford. He looked real good. We didnt really pass up on him - he was taken earlier in the 3rd round & then we grabbed Brian Winters.
Warford is ok, but I'd rather have Winters. Warford is so damn big, I think he's really going to have trouble in pass protection. Couple that with the fact that Detroit basically runs a shotgun, spread offense, and he'll really be in trouble on an island out there by himself. I think Winters is the more complete player. Jets got a good one there IMO.
Oh, okay. Then you were just too stupid to look up their draft position. Got it. It's really not convincing to your pretend Jets-fandom when you are absolutely clueless to what players they had available when they were picking. Funny thing, though. Tayvon Austin was available to the Bills before they traded back. Stupid ass.
I'm not trying to knock Winters and I know its early, but Warford at 65 will end up being 1 of the great values of the draft. Its not going to be a steal, - but value. Larry Warford flew under the radar in the SEC @ Kentucky for 2 years. The guy has held his own against everyone he played. He was a fan favorite in this forum in numerous mock drafts. I would have loved to see him fall 7 more slots to us.
Yes he looks OK so far......the bills look pretty active on D. They are not gonna be pushovers this year at all. Raiders look absolutely terrible - IMO they appear to be the only slam dunk W on our schedule. They should have the top pick next year. Chiefs look very competitive and should win 7 -8 games. Saints are in mid season form
Agreed. This Raiders team could be one of the worst of all time. Their offensive line is beyond horrendous. They have one decent receiver. And they have a QB who has no arm.
