Exactly. Other than the injuries being confined to 2 positions primarily, the Jets have been extremely fortunate in comparison to the rest of the league thus far with the injury bug. (knocks on a hard piece of wood) The new CBA allows the players to kick back and relax most of the offseason and as a result were seeing players in less football shape early on. This is why were seeing so many injuries and this is only the start. It's going to become the norm to see a lot more hamstring/knee/calf injuries every August and September. The best way to protect yourself from football injuries is to have contact and top speed as much as possible - acclimates the body, makes it more flexible, teaches it how to fall, etc. Less contact = more injuries, unfortunately its not possible with the new CBA. The owners should've been less greedy with their money and the players in turn would've been less greedy with their bodies.
Those complaining about injuries only need to look around the rest of the league. Several teams have already had season ending injuries to key guys. The Packers have lost 11 guys in 11 practices. Eagles are all banged up. Vikings have guys sitting out and if you look more around the league you will find the same. The Jets are no different.
Sanchez having a good 7 on 7 Geno too aside from Trufant picking him off Sanchez seems to be rapping up the competition
Two QB's with gimpy ankles now... Sanchez better take serious advantage of this and based on today's practice so far, it looks like he is... Damnit
Unfortunately it never seems to be the Pats OLine.... Considering how many times he's been laid out I'm surprised he hasn't missed a season.
@RichCimini Now Cromartie is hurt. Left elbow/arm. Lot of pain, but stays in. #Jets @RichCimini Trainers looking at Cromartie. #Jets
Rich Cimini @RichCimini 8m QB stats: Sanchez 2-for-3, 1 TD. Great in 7 on 7. Geno 6-for-7, 1 TD, 1 sack. Had INT in 7 on 7. Geno still limping. Split first-team reps.
No ankle report? (beyond limping)...i mean can a reporter to to a coach, or trainer? Id like to see him start this week.
I heard McKnights issue is all mental. Has acute anxiety hyperventilates when exerting himself. Time to send this guy to the looney bin. Pro football is not his thing.
I am not sure what you mean he has always been one of the least hit QBs in football. Even in his worst year, 2011, the Jets OL gave up the 5th least amount of hits in the league. The man almost never gets hit. It is rare that he ever actually takes hit while throwing the ball like most NFL QBs. He seems almost never to be willing to put his body on the line. Although now that his job is danger he might be willing as he actually took a hit while completing a pass against Detroit.
