Everyone wants what's best for the team, they just have different opinions on how the front office should approach it. If a guy is a Sanchez fan or a Geno fan, it boils down to who he thinks will be better for the franchise. But when it comes down to it, no one should root against a Jet because he wants someone else to play. Whoever the coaching staff decides to start is the starting quarterback of the Jets regardless of whether or not you are rooting for him. Let the coaches evaluate them and make the decision, because we have no control over it.
And in semi relevant training camp news, looks like Cimini is out-douchebagging Mehta. Manish Mehta Of course Cimini started speculation when he said Of course Cimini's quote has now been the basis of several articles which claim that the Jets are suspecting Holmes is milking the injury. Anonymous sources provide the best information for attention grabbing articles, oddly enough.
So... this season's anonymous source is Dick Cimini? What a fucking dick. I KNEW he was behind all these conspiracies.
In for the thread highjack ... But training camp; Holmes trying to help sounds nice but coming from him I don't know if it is worth much. Hopefully it's only positive and he comes back like 2011
ROFL on the attempted Obama equation, rofl...Geno has 4 times the resume coming out of college that Sanchez had coming out of college. As for the rest of your lame ass argument, the same can be said for any QB coming out of college in to the NFL, from Peyton Manning when he first came up to Ryan Leif when he first came up. Geno will be somewhere between the two. Here's the cold hard fact, we know what Sanchez is as a QB, a bottom 1/4 of the league talent who if anything has held the Jets back in 3 of the 4 years and a team that despite Sanchez doing exactly dick at QB still won 6 games despite Sanchez's best efforts to finish lower. Sanchez's ceiling is a JAG, nothing more.
Bradfords worst year statistically is better than Sanchez's best. He's just had a lousey defense. You really want to make that argument. Here's mine, if Sanchez was the QB of ANY other league in the NFL, hell the CFL for that matter, you'd be calling him the worst QB in football.
I would like to point out that I'm not a big Geno fan, but I think he's the better option for the Jets long term. He's not who I wanted the jets to draft, but then again no one drafted the guy I wanted the Jets to draft...though that guy has been impressing the hell out of KC fans so far this TC.
you'll notice that Hobbes is saying that Sanchez's career year expectation is 10% better than the clusterfuck that was last year. Talk about setting a low bar....
I have, bottom of the barrel, just as it's been in all 4 years of Sanchez's reign as QB, the only difference is last year didn't have a top end running game. Sanchez's numbers last year were almost dead on to his career baseline averages. In other words Sanchez had a perfectly average Sanchez Year.
Your betting an ill defined wager, a suckers bet. Then you later counter with a 10% improvement on last years QBR, probably the least accurate statistic of all. Tell you what, if he has a Positive DVOR in 2013 (something he's never had) I'll never post on this board again. hell I'll even give you the bonus of if it's a 0 DVOR I'll never post on this board again. And by DVOR Meaning all Sanchez has to do is be perfectly league average in his position when adjusted for the strength of the defenses he faced. Simple, non biased reporting as reported by Pro-football focus. But if I win, you don't even have to quit the board Hobbes, you just have to change your tagline to read "I Hobbes have no idea what i'm talking about and have my head up my ass". And you have to keep that tagline for as long as you post on this board. Deal? if Sanchez has a Positive, or even 0 DVOR I leave the board. But, If he doesn't you adopt that tagline permanently for as long as you post here. I'll look forward to seeing your tagline for years to come. Edit, if Sanchez doesn't finish the season as the starter because he's benched I win and you lose, If Sanchez has a positive DVOR but starts less than 3/4 of the season it's a draw. If Sanchez starts the season and doesn't finish the season due to injury its a draw. Edit. If Sanchez is traded, I win. If Sanchez has less than 300 pass attempts I win. So Hobbes, you man enough? I'm game. Final edit, I made one mistake, the stat is DVOA not DVOR (sorry bout that) and the stat DVOA is from footballoutisders not Pro-football focus,. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/qb
