That could also be what he's saying and I agree with you his turnovers are inexcusable

It means, it needs ro be understood in CONTEXT.

Anyone dragging 2012 in as an argument, has no business offering an opinion.

    2011...fair enough.

    26 turnovers.

    32 scores.

He got an extension because the GM finally realised the QB wasnt the issue, the OC was.

More specifically, because the GM probably got feedback from the players on the dofference between Moore and Schotty.

I agree that the OC was the ALSO the problem....but to say Sanchez was not part of the problem is a joke

I think we're all looking forward to the time when we can get past this. Once there's stability back at the quarterback position there will be a lot less of these arguments.

I'd rather someone make a case for Sanchez to start rather than people trying to say McElroy is a starting quality QB

So, today's practice goes to Geno.

    Smith: 7/10 4 TDs 1 INT

    Sanchez: 3/9 1 TD.

What does Geno and Mark does that make them that much better than McElroy?

ROFL, lame..toss out his "worst year" but keep his "best" year rofl...

All you need to know, 4 seasons, more turn overs than TD's.
over past four seasons ranked #2 in total turnovers.
last 20% of QB's in points scored, completion percentage, yards per game, In fact among starters over the past 4 years he's pretty much at or near the bottom in every measurable.

his extension got the GM fired as a reflection of the GM's poor judgment.
And needing to quote Junc with an "you shouldn't be talking football" quote is like quoting Tiny Tim on how to sing.

    Pretty much sounds like it.

The reporters were saying it was a slow practice, prob cause of. Geno's injury. They were (1st Team) doing goal Line stuff.

Also they had Sanchez redo the int play in practice, so his incompletions came from there and a Braylon drop. So it's hard to put numbers in context from practice since they practice game situations.

If you dont start Mark you start Geno thats why they drafted him

McElroy looked absolutely terrible in his only start last year just because he looked good Friday against 3rd stringers and players taht wont even make team doesn't make him starter quality

It's hard to ever put Sanchez's numbers into context unless you are Hobbes or Junc. We'll have to get their take on it, maybe the wind was affecting some of his passes.

It's because it's about the only thing they can say that makes Sanchez look decent....fact is 2011 was an outlier year statistically, akin to Roger Maris's 61 home run season, almost double what the most he hit in any other season. One out of 4 seasons with more than 20 TD's, one of out 4 seasons with fewer than 18 interceptions, one out of 4 seasons with fewer than 19 turnovers. His weighted career AV is ranked 3,492nd in the NFL since 1950. Richard Todd, by comparison is ranked 882nd on that same scale. Think about all of that and you realize why Hobbes and Junc are basically stuck with that one line they keep repeating....it's all they have in their arsenal. It's kind of like the country of Monaco (world's smallest country) trying to compare itself militarily to the Great Britain by saying it's never lost a war....

I'm far from a Sanchez critic and it's no secret I'm a big time fan of Geno Smith but I'm sorry, but a 5th year quarterback in Sanchez shouldn't be getting our performed by a rookie. I'll refuse to put too much stock into practice(s) as I'll continue to refuse to put too much stock into preseason games but when in regards to individual performances... I will read between the lines, and it's looking like Geno Smith is our opening day starter come week one against Tampa Bay. It's just mind boggling how Sanchez, a 5th year starter, threw an INT in which was returned for a TD... Off a screen pass. And almost threw another pick 6 on his second screen attempt. If Sanchez is going to make the same mental mistakes as he's made over the previous 4 seasons maybe, just maybe... He's prone to mistakes and a rookie in Geno Smith deserves the opportunity to A.) Play and B.) Learn from his mistakes unlike Sanchez has done over the previous 4 years.

I always believed in Sanchez. He's physically a good quarterback. He can make all the throws. But now I'm starting to question his mental capability and/or his decision making on the football field. It's time for Sanchez to become a backup while seeing what we truly have in Geno Smith.
