its not notpicking we you dont score much, turn it over, dont run, dont protect the qb, give the other team 6 free points, and commit 11 penalties, thats a horrible offensive game.
its not complicated: Blame fergeson, the OL, the FB for it not being a play that gained positive yardage blame sanchez for it tunring into 6 points for the lions isntead of an incompletion. i can live with blown blocking and 0 yards. i cant live with pick 6's.
I'm looking at the play and blaming Brick is crazy Young came off the edge and was about to kill Mark He panicked and threw it to Bohanon who was flushed out the play and got picked WE CAN NOT HAVE THAT
Yeah it's hard to blame Brick on that. That was a blown play. Austin's man blew by him, and got to Sanchez, FB gets knocked down. Bottom Line is Sanchez got antsy and made a dumb throw. The other close interception is more disputable bcuz I think Winslow was not at his landmark, but made a great hit on bam bam play. Sanchez did settle and played well after. Whether the defenders fell and were mixed up is nonrelevent, Sanchez was making proper reads, recognizing the vulnerability in the defense, and making accurate throws.
Yeah we must come out tossing the ball all over the field no in-completions and score TDs on every drive, with no penalties, no QB hits, with the our number one back out and the Marty obviously playing more pass than run. The fucking nerve of the NY Jets for not playing perfect football in the first fucking preseason game.
using hyperbole doesnt make your point any less invalid then it was the first time. there is ALOT of grey area between "no incompletions and scoring on every play with no penalties" and turning it over a ton, committing 11 penalties, and handing the opponent free points while not getting any running game going. if you think offensively we were anything but subpar, sloppy, and ineffective then you simply dont understand what good offense is
Who's whining about the effectiveness of the offense last night? Anyone realizes that the offense will improve. It's a new team, a new system, the group has gelling to do, etc. The big stir is that we saw that Mark looked EXACTLY like the Sanchez most of us don't want anymore. I literally started laughing when he threw the pick 6. Took the poor guy 4 fucking plays... to do the one thing he knows what he absolutely mustn't do. And he better been thanking Winslow in the locker room for saving the other pick 6. Cherry on top was him being comfortable/halfway arrogant in the interview afterwards.
To my uneducated eye Sanchez's pick 6 was a breakdown in the execution of the play In my opinion not being fully aware of how the play was designed there are several potentials Peterman blocked his man in the wrong direction ie to Bohannon where he got tangled up with the d lineman Bohannon took the wrong angle inside rather than off tackle Brick did not hold his block properly or some combination of the three possibilities. I'm inclined to take the view that both Peterman and Bohannon had poor execution which was severely compounded by Sanchez throwing a screen where t was not set. Basically that Sanchez did not see that the play had broken down. If so that is multiple errors with Sanchez not seeing how the play developed and being too dialed in to the play called ie it is scrren left so that's where I'm going as opposed to seeing the field
The pick six was inexcusable. He tried to drop the ball over the dlineman and couldn't do it the ball should have been thrown away. The rest of throws he was spot on. Looked good in the pocket made the rt reads and made some good throws. Unlike most the picks do not concern me that much the fumbles are what concern me. We did not see mark get hit and hold onto the ball. That is the test he has to pass for me. The inaccuracy, pocket presence etc are bs he can throw the rock but can hold onto to the football. To me geno looked like I thought a second rd draft pick rookie that needs time to develop. Mcelroy looked good but want to see him trow outside the numbers. I thought mark looked better.
No, he wasn't. He had I think 4 or 5 throws that were spot on. He was careless, inaccurate and inconsistent - as usual.
Watch the Video, Sanchez's eyes are right on where the pass is going as he's back peddling, he panicked and threw a lollipop and it was a pick 6. Did the play breakdown in other areas? yes. Was it Sanchez's fault the play brokedown? No. Was it Sanchez's fault that he decided to lollipop a throw instead of ditching it or taking a sack? Yes. I know, I know, it's the first pre-season game. The problem is these are the types of Mistakes Sanchez has made each and every prior year. Rookie bone head mistakes that more than offset any good he can do.
Agree the final responsibility lies with Sanchez in terms of vision however others are not executing and that is also a concern
You must have watched a different game. The winslow save was on winslow you have to put yourself in a passing lane He had three incomplete passes please tell what other throws were poor?
He was in Sanchezs throwing window Mark threw in front of him which is why he reached out with one hand to try and catch the pass
gtfoh. He threw another careless screen pass that never should have been thrown and he was very lucky wasn't intercepted. He does it all the time. Don't blame the soldier for Sanchez being careless. The throw is low and behind the receiver. The pass is low and a little behind Hill here which causes him to have to go down to the ground to catch it. If he puts it in front of him at chest level like he's supposed to it's a long gain, possibly a TD. The pass is low and causes Gates to have to go down for it. If he puts it in front of him at chest level like he's supposed to it's a long gain, possibly a TD. High and behind Kerley forcing him to slow down and extend to make the reception or it could have been a bigger gain. Pass is low and behind the receiver instead of in front and at chest level. you can only put 5 images in one post. there's at least one more bad pass to a back
