Because Sackelry cannot get it there in a hurry.

    Its that simple.

Sanchez (at times) gets in little windows. GSack, needs a barn door.

Thats why hes the third stringer.

Ironically, that was a critique of Sanchez coming out, that he was hitton guys 5 yards open.

Geno got fucked by the p,ay calling.

You know I think Sanchez should start, but 3rd and 15 draw?

Let the guy wing it. Its week 1 pre season.

We know he can hand off,

Sackelry...lol I like the nickname

Seriously, though, re-watch that game. Sackelry has the same amount of arm strength as Nacho...at least on this day he did. And he hit a number of beautiful passes in very tight spots. Look, all I'm sayin' is he deserves(d) to be in the competition.

Mark was shit until Detroit put in their 2nd stringers

But hey he threw a TD

Geno never got a shot to go vertical remember Marty goes short to open up the vertical game but the run game was non existent aside from Griffins run and the WR had limited YAC

Both QBs were good but the next week will tell us a lot more

THEN WHY HAVE THEY BEEN WASTING TIME!!!???

they must be the biggest dopes on the planet to actually implement a competition setting instead of giving sanchez full time with the ones everyday if they KNEW it would end up with him winning.

hell even the media started a sanchez as a favorite narrative, and most practices were closed off from public eye. they could have said geno looked questionable during OTA's and that sanchez had won and they would have gotten whatever magical fairy award they get for propagating this narrative much sooner.

your logic dictates that the Jets are idiots you know that right?

    Pretty sure

Normal teams play their starters 2 series and that's it

I could be wrong but I don't remember Suh, Fairley and others in on our TD drive

    1. Arm strength is not the overriding factor in WCO. There are a lot of ways to get a player open in WCO - either through overloading, stretches, peeling or rubbing - and while having the rocket arm will help, it doesn't kill the offense if your QB doesn't have that. [Or that was why Walsh designed the offense that way - Montana didn't have that rocket arm everybody was looking for in that prototypical QB.]

    2. Look at how each performed when the protection broke down. Each threw a TD pass when the protection broke down. Just, Nacho threw it to the other team. Do you get it? THAT IS THE DAMN PROBLEM. When things break down, Nacho just SUCKS. If Sanchez was playing at that spot where McElroy threw a TD pass, do you honestly think he could come up with TD pass? [If you think Sanchez could, you are more than delusional.]

Okay...So #1 problem on Jets remains, Jets just can't evaluate talent very well. Jets continue to not have any impact players....offensively or defensively. All the play-calling or defensive schemes can't camouflage the lack of depth or talent.
Jets still have no pass-rushers & the LB's are non-impact players...??? Linebackers are terrible & slow.

The good news, making cuts will be quite easy....lol. Hopefully there is some progress by week 2.

Michael Irvin on nfl network: " why don't the jets make the qb battle between McElroy and smith" ?

warren sapp and rich eisen: " you mean you're discarding sanchez"?

Irvin: " I didn't dicard him, he discarded himself. 5th year in the league and you throw (pick) like that" ?

once again, el taco ( 5t pick, 1st round $over 30 million cost) gets outplayed by a 7th round (under $2 million player) , who throws accurately, doesn't turn over the ball, doesn't throw td passes TO DEFENSIVE LINEMAN of the other team!!!!!!! :eek:hmy::rolleyes::mad:

Sanchez is the man. He allowed for Pro-Sanchez people to continue talking, and Anti-Sanchez people to continue talking. True class act. Haha. :)

no pass rush, what the- were you not paying attention?! It seemed to me Wilkerson, Barnes and all were doing just fine in that department. 96 was in the pocket all day.

how can you say theres no pass rushers?

why don't you haters listen to a guy who actually played in the league, and speaks from experience? mezz is saying the same thing that Michael Irvin says. a hall-of-fame player"s view plus the mezz and some of your fellow posters all see the same things. are the rest of you blind?

let rex hitch his wagon to el taco loco and idzik will have no trouble bringing in his own head coach next year..:metal:

then they plan to tank the season , and you have a real shot at the first pick in the draft next year. only, rex won't be around and neither will el taco loco.
but, both smith and gmac will be.

the over/under for wins if el taco starts all 16 games is 2!:shit:

The oline was getting bullied plus they committed way too many penalties.
I liked what I saw from Gates, Hill and Kerley. The tight ends Cumberland and Winslow were solid as well. Rogers has potential he just needs time to develop.

Sanchez after the boneheaded pick 6 put together a nice drive. He is in the lead IMO for the starting job. Geno looked okay nothing to write home about, hopefully his injury isn't too serious. Greg played well he's a nice QB too bad they won't give him a legit shot.
