no one is mad he was accurate. it just irrelevant at that point. he consistently puts us in giant holes or squanders redzone chances. we can afford to have him out there making rookie mistakes giving the other team points or throwing redzone picks and making blind throws. its not acceptable to do that consistently as a 5th year pro
let's see how Geno reacts when players like Suh is breathing down his neck before everyone else here gets too happy.
geno was not very good tonight. he did however hit some receivers and make some decent throws. sancho was not good tonight, he also hit some receivers and made some decent throws. the difference is that sancho looked like a guy who has played for 5 years (calm and relaxed) and still throws ints to the other team while geno looked like he was on a short leash and was a bit tentative ill call it. which is understandable for his first game.
the thing is, he cant be worse then sanchez. he can be as bad. but he cant be worse. who the hell is saying smith will be some all-pro? all we are asking is not to make horrible, high school type negative plays over and over and over and over and over. maybe smith makes some bad rookie mistakes. maybe he improves. maybe he looks ok. maybe he looks awful. gotta see though. with sanchez, you know he is going to continue to turn it over in the worst spots and kill your chances of winning.
he was under heavy pressure. I mean c'mon, its the first preseason game! Yes it was stupid, very stupid, but he corrected his stupid and went to throw his TD. Major props for that. Week 2 if he does it again, as he seeing his FB on the floor and still throwing , well then hang him.
the accurate part as in hitting someone who was open and people bitching about that seems overly silly.
Sanchez is dog sh1t. BRB pick 6 first series. Almost 2nd int if it weren't for Winslow. Throwing behind guys almost all the time. The rook looked way better. Far more accurate and more zip on his ball. Plus he hasn't been in the NFL for 4 years like Suckchez.
Not sure but Hobbes was saying the WR was held which he might be correct and that missed with the timing. Ill look at the replay later.
it doesnt matter if he was under heavy pressure. thats the point! when nothing is there, dont compound things by turning it over and handing the other team points. take the sack and minimize the damage. throw it away and minimize the damage. there is no "correcting" a pick 6. you cant take those points off the board. and thats just it. he puts us in giant holes with those mistakes. these things are ok as a rookie. you cant be learning the basics of QB play in year 5. and he has shown he doesnt learn from his mistakes. hell if not for winslow he would have had 2 pick sixes this game. stop it with excusing DECISION MAKING. if you want to excuse away inaccuracy or footwork or whatever fine. but there is no excuse for consistent, horrible, back breaking decision making. This is the NFL. there is going to be presssure and pass rush. the great players find a way not to turn it over or make you pay. the good ones take the negative play. the rookies and horrible players turn it over and kill their teams
Sanchez leads league in turnovers last 2 years. Turnovers = losses. Pick 6 first series sealed his fate. If Geno can stay healthy he should start week 1.
1) there is no defensive holding in the backfield on a runningback. 2) it doesnt matter if the back was taken out of the play. if you see the play is busted, throw the ball into the ground and get in the huddle for the next play there is no excuse for handing the ball to the other team
he wasnt held got caught up in traffic. at which point sancho should have beaned the ball 2 yards in front of all of them into the ground. terrible decision, people have VERY little patience for that shit at this point from sancho, that one was on him completely. the pass to winslow was at least a yard off target to a guy who was not even at the line of scrimmage. he caught a blessing that one didnt get picked. it was a terrible pass. he also threw behind 3 different receivers who caught the ball. one on a leak out and the guy had to turn completely around to catch the ball completely breaking his stride and guaranteeing that he did not get anywhere near the first down.
dude, Geno might be a huge bust and probably can be injury prone unlike Sanchez. Too early to go back and forth. See ya in game 2.
he can be a bust and still be better then sanchez. sanchez is the worst starting player in the sport and the worst qb in football over the course of his career. sanchez being injury prone would only help this team. if smith never plays a down, by default he is better then sanchez. also, who cares what smith does. this thread is about sanchez. the fact it is even asked if a rookie is a better decision maker is just embarassing
