Vegas has us winning 4 games. I already have two bets going with different guys, so I'll extend the same to you: I'll take 6Ws or more (two above the line), you take 4Ws or less. 5-11 is a wash. Loser buys winner authentic Jets jersey of winner's choice. You in?
4 games? ill take that under and say we get clowney...JDC and Wilk on our line would be worth a nightmare season
I'm not trying to be confrontational but wtf team have some of you been watching? We are starting the season with a legit slot receiver and injury prone te. We have "marginal" rb's and that's being generous just look around for Christ sakes. We don't have a legit safety on the roster and when barnes is your best option as a passrushing lb your passrush probably sucks. Our best interior dl is in kc and oh yah we have mark fucken Sanchez. 7 wins would be Good for this team 4 wins very possible.
^^ Devito was our best interior linesman? That's an easy bet. There's no way the Jets win less than 5. Last season was a disaster for major injuries AND terrible play on offense and we still won 6. At least this year if we bench Sanchez there is somebody that can step in and get it done unlike last season with Teblow and Sackelroy. Rex takes a lot of heat for not benching Sanchez earlier, but in reality neither of those guys would have done better. Tons of things went wrong last year that most likely will not go wrong this year. Revis or no Revis the D is better, plus better coaching on offense and defense. Granted they are learning a new system, but if Hill really becomes the guy we need him to be, we're already in good shape. I'd take that bet in an instant. I'd even raise it to 7 wins or more.
6-10. I like the D, but I think they're going to be on the field way too much. If Ivory and Holmes were healthy, I'd go .500
Vs The Bucs- W tough place to play first game, always. Stadium is jammed. At The Patriots- L we're not ready Vs The Bills- W Buffalo... At The Titans- This one is tough, I think we can win. W At The Falcons- Can't keep up with their offense scoring points L Vs The Steelers- L This could be the dagger game for Sanchez. Vs The Patriots - Geno makes first start we Win, Big :gpc: "Tebow" chants begin At The Bengals- W Bengals... Vs The Saints- L Saints... Geno a little dinged up At The Bills- Sanchez starts they win L At The Ravens- Sanchez starts L Vs The Dolphins- Sanchez starts L Vs The Raiders- Geno back W At The Panthers- this one is tough L. Defense has off night containing Newton. Vs The Browns- Historically I hate this game, but times are changing W. At The Dolphins- W 8-8 shot at the playoffs. Fun fucking season.
Ha! I think they win 7 games no matter who plays QB. Maybe more, depending on the circumstances. It's impossible to tell at this point how high they go, but the only way they win only 4 games is by at least 6 key starters being injured for the majority of the season, not counting Punktonio Holmes.
I'll draw a more concise line at some point prior to the first game of the season. too many variables right now and I want to get a feel for the O-line play and the secondary play. Regardless unless the defense is top 2-3 in points allowed this will likely be a sub .500 season.
I'm thinking 7 and 9.....and that's everyone being healthy the whole season. We know that's not going to happen, so let's go 5 and 11. No running game and inconsistencies in the QB play will doom this team.
Vs The Bucs - loss(sanchez 4 picks) At The Patriots - blowout loss Vs The Bills - loss (sanchez 4 picks) At The Titans - win, smith takes over as starter At The Falcons - blowout loss Vs The Steelers - blowout loss Vs The Patriots - blowout loss At The Bengals - loss, sanchez back at starter in second half, throws 3 picks Vs The Saints - blowout loss At The Bills - win, ugly game, D and run game play well At The Ravens - blwout loss Vs The Dolphins - loss sanchez 3 picks Vs The Raiders - loss, we blow a huge lead At The Panthers - win, smith back in as starter Vs The Browns - win At The Dolphins - win - 5-11. horrible pathetic start behind awful sanchez play. smith win early gets fans excited but we get biotch slapped against great opponents, smith has rookie struggles and we go back to sanches, who continues to be awful and we lose again. we go back to smith late and we beat a couple bad opponents in meaningless games causing an enormous smith hype going into next season as he rides a 3 game win streak
Well, it's good to see your are not doom and gloom. This first game got me worried though. Geno is not ready and Sanchez .... He is still Sanchez. With no reliable RB I gotta admit I'm worried. The 1sts were holding their own though so perhaps I need to wait & see.
