Sanchez played under Schotty for 3 years Favre played 1 year and Chad only a season and a few games in 07. So it would be quite awful if Sanchez couldn't put up more scores than Pennington or Favre.

Sanchez sucked his rookie year. Then he stepped up in the postseason in both years. I give him his credit but overall he's been terrible.

Wow that is an amazing chart. Keep in mind Sanchez's stats are also greatly inflated because he was asked to do so little the first two years as he was only allowed to throw in ideal passing situations to avoid exposing him to making more mistakes. Not to mention with the rules today protecting QBs and favoring offenses its almost impossible for a modern day QB to have such a low rating. But a good season this year and he could catch Joey Harrington. But wouldn't that be a shame. Being the 2nd worst QB of all time is not near as good as being the worst QB of all time. Even better he got a contract extension. That is quite an accomplishment.

Edit I take it back about Sanchez being able to pass Harrington. These stats are not career just the first 4 years. So Sanchez owns the record and its doubtful anyone will ever break it. He is truly a deserving number 1. Hopefully he will not get a chance to set the 5 year record.

Id say something close to what Phillip Rivers or Matt Schaub last year (down years for them).

    3800 yards, 88 passer rating, 63%, 24 TDs, 12 INTs.

He pretty much is going to have to take 3 steps forward. We have a young talented QB in the wings, so even a decent year wont do much. At this point hes at about a net of 2 steps back- 1 step forward in 2009, 1 steps forward in 2010, 1 step back in 2011, 2 steps back in 2012.

More importantly than stats, he has to regain confidence, improve accuracy and most importantly cut down on the mental errors.

Keep laying the pipe to Mrs. Ryan while Rex films it.

The sad thing is, I'm not even surprised by this chart. I'm sure we are bound to get junc, hobbes, and the rest of the delusional Sanchez nut-hugging crowd, to counter this post with any number of excuses, rationalizations, and diversions. But before they do, I ask that they sincerely and thoroughly consider what this chart represents and ponder how absurd defending Mark Sanchez, in the absolute, really is. There is no denying the reality that, by any objective standard of assessment, Mark Sanchez has been a bad starting quarterback. In point of fact, he's been really bad.

A deep run in the playoffs while having a 2:1 TD to INT ratio

Other QB's may or may not have had a chance to win with the same team, but other QB's sure has has had a chance not to be an utter embarrassment. Other QB's certainly had a chance to throw dump off passes to their RB and not at their feet, or over their head. Other QB's had a chance not to forget the play, lower their head, and run blindly into the ass of the OL. Other QB's had the chance not to double and triple pump, and throw into heavy coverage time and time again. Nobody who knows football is judging Sanchez because the Jets didn't win. They are judging Sanchez because his *PLAY* sucks. His *SKILLS* are terrible.

Not be the weakest link on the team.
    Make much smarter throws.
    Play more consistently.
Make smarter decisions which ties into the throws.
    Look to be in control.

I understand just like last year, this year, the offensive talent isn't very good. BUT that doesn't absolve Sanchez from throwing into triple coverage, wasting RZ trips, and putting the team into terrible positions. So if he can make a step forward where the thing that is slowing down our offense is lack of an explosive RB or TE and not Sanchez, he can stay.

I give that happening like 15% chance right now.

sanchez should have been benched weeks before he was.

he was then benched for a week and amazingly the next guy got hurt and he played an away game. i think it is no surprise what happened, they continued to coddle him. they pulled him because they absolutely had to or the top would have blown off that piece of shit stadium.... but as soon as they and by they i mean rex got a chance and an excuse he was ready to throw him back in there.

he has also never and i mean never had anyone to even remotely challenge him. the fucking guy has been handled with kids gloves for his entire career and you can hear it in rex voice still that sancho is his boy. it mjade me sick to hear rex talk the other night and i dont see any way that if rex is left to make the decision that sancho sits.

luckily i think. well i hope idzik realizes this and doesnt let rex make the decision. which is damning for a head coach.

Laxin, as a Wayne Hunter apologist, you have officially jumped the shark.

Sanchez had one losing season. 2012, no oc, no skill players.

Team went 8-8 in 2011, while Sanchez scored more than any other QB under Schotty.

    Ever.

With WFH the turnstile at RT.

    So..l.lets recap.

    Btb AFCCGs.

    Four road playoff wins

Highest scoring QB under a shit OC.

    1. Repeat....1 losing season with no OC...and 30 games missed by the top 3 skill position players.

    Yeah....this guy sucks.

I find it kinda funny that Hobbes sometimes compares Sanchez's situation with the qb at the very top of the list.

Morningwheg has his work cut out for him.

The fact that Jim Kelly isn't on this list tells me it's probably just a made up internet meme.

I also see Dan Marino somewhere near the middle, which tells me if Kelly was accidently ommitted and this meme is accurate...Then it is baseless, because Marino is arguably one of the top 3 QBs of all time

And the year before, too, right? Except for the past two years, the Jets have consistently made the playoffs for the past four years.
