thats a shame, it just shouldnt happen. i dont know what does happen but if he has to figure it out on his own its just absurd. that guy should be taken care of by the jets if he got injured while working for them. and i dont give a shit what kind of contract or non contract he had. cba issues...
I mean, if you're cut you're no longer a part of the organization. So I would assume that yes, you are on your own. If thats the case, talk about kicking a guy when he's already down. I could be wrong though. It sucks to see a player with potential like Vidal have an injury like this. He may never get another shot in this league.
I think you have to be signed to a multi-year deal in order to get an injury settlement from the team, and Hazelton was signed to a futures contract before the end of last season so it wasn't more than a 1 year deal unless I missed him signing a new contract. I'll have to look the rule up in the CBA.

At first I thought Cromartie would be an eventual cap casualty in 2014, but his recent maturation makes me think otherwise. I hope he sticks around till he retires.
I read on NFL.com or somewhere that Ivory won't play on Friday but says he will for sure be 100% up to speed by Tuesday. I hope he's right, that would be a huge boost for us. Hopefully he can make it into the week 2 preseason game (which I think is a Saturday) so we can see him in action.
Well that does explain about the absence of Davis, every reference I've heard after the opening of mini camp was early on he had turned some heads but since TC hit he's been on the bike.
