You're thinking 10 years ago. QBs don't sit and wait anymore unless they have a superstar in front of them and nobody would say that is the case here.
I saw many fans who thought Geno would start. LTJF even has that thread saying Sanchez would never get a snap with the 1's in preseason. Though minor, it is still news. Geno may start vs. Jacksonville, he may not.
Anyone who thought Geno would start the first game is blind Rex won't let Sanchez down without a fight as bad as it is
That would be the case if Geno was drafted #9 overall or #13. He was the 39th overall pick though and no reason that he can't sit if he is not ready or Sanchez is outplaying him.
this sums up the anti-Sanchez crowd perfectly. To you guys if we don't say mark sucks and is the worst QB in the league we must think he is a superstar. Unfortunately for you guys unless you have a Brady type no one will be good enough for you so in 2 years this will be a "Geno Smith sucks" thread and you guys will be signing the praises of the next savior.
We understand the game of football. That is our problem. None of us think Mark is a superstar. That would make no sense. We just know that it is not time to give up on him yet. However, with all the negativity the media, fans and organization bring on Sanchez, he may have to move on for his own good. Can't help our location or how our franchise is run.
Actually Mark threw one too and we said hey 4th down go for it all no biggie But he's playing well and he's not the typical #39 pick Dude was in consideration at #13 and were already starting likely 4 other rookies and so far in camp Geno has been better than Mark and better than most expected
Really glad to see Mark is doing well in practice leading up to the first game. Make this decision for them as tough as possible Nacho, I still have a shread of faith left in you.
I don't see the harm in starting Sanchez in the first pre-season game, I just hope they give Geno some time with the #1 offense (which, according to Twitter, is the plan). Personally I'm kind of torn on what I want to happen. A part of me just wants to move on from Sanchez and see what Geno can do, another part wants to protect Geno and give him more time to develop before throwing him into the starting gig and then there is another part that doesn't think either of them are the answer. The main part just wants to win football games so whoever is going to help us do that is welcome to it, don't care who it is.
right now all the QBs seem to be doing well in camp, that's a good sign. Hopefully whoever is starting week 1 will be ready to go and we'll win that game.
