I just dont understand how some people can say we dont know what we have in Sanchez... Honestly, only a Jet fan could say that. You ask anybody that has no subjective ties to this team and they will say they know what we have in Sanchez. Its not hard to see his ceiling at this point- its not very high.
So, you think Schottenheimer, and the offensive talent, have been average, and Sanchez has held us back?
Gotten used to saINTchez lovers to reach for straws in this thread, but don't you think this one was particularly weak...?
How can you know what you have in a QB, with schotty, retreads, and then Sparano, amd injuries? If you have an argument to the contrary make it. Tell me how great Schotty is, or how Sanchez failed playing with a bevy of blue chio talent, like wayne, clark, harrison, addai, etc... The only thing weak here is the hit and run non argument commentary. It was a simple question. Has the OC and talent, been middle of the pack or better? All of the Sanchez haters talk shit about Bradford having a "career" year under Schotty. Where did that offense finish? Oh, right...23rd.
Give Sanchez his due credit. He had a solid day today, which is nice to see after his poor performance in the scrimmage. Smith did himself no favors with a bad outing today, and Mark capitalized. Regardless of what you think of him (I, myself, have a low opinion of him), you have to admit he did good today.
Prove me wrong then. Saying false and calling me a liar doesn't make your point any stronger. Drinking BSPN's juice alot typically do.
I never get my opinions from BSPN or any media outlets I watch and research Lets put it this way going into the draft I wanted to get Sanchez some weapons and strengthen the O-Line But the team has moved on so it seems for better or worse
Why is it impossible to judge a QB in any type of circumstance? And yes, Schotty was below average, but he wasnt absolute shit. Neither was our offensive talent despite last year (which was only that bad because of injuries). In 2009 and 2010, Schotty coached to Sanchez's abilities- strong run game with play action off it. 2011, Sanchez was asked to do more, as you should expect from a QB in his situation who was (as we all know) coming off 2 AFCCG's. The talent level on offense was never bad- in fact for the most part it was pretty good. 1st round TE, top 10 WR in Braylon who we traded for and only left due to money, a high draft pick and SB MVP in Holmes, a good OL (please dont bring up WFH- Rodgers just lost his LT and I guarantee he puts up an MVP type season. the rest of the OL was solid then). Our run game was above average. Let me ask you this- can we judge Blaine Gabbert yet? He's been in a far worse situation than Sanchez, but Im sure you have an opinion on him. Or how about Tannehill who you think is trash? How can you judge him? His offensive talent was trash.
Sanchez back is firmly against the wall at this point. Let's see how he does. If he's inconsistent at this point then there's no reason to think that will get better in the future. If he gets it together and starts playing really well, well that's something we should all be rooting for because it is very good for the Jets if it happens. No way out for him now but forward.
He had a good day but the issue is this Geno has outperformed him thus far yet all that means nothing to people after 1 good day and 1 bad day from Geno That's the reason Mark is bad now He's always been given a low bar to hurdle and that doesn't win championships
Again though my statement isn't particularly about one person so it may not apply to you. But again you can't say there are a lot of fans out there that eat everything the media tells them.
Definitely But personally I try to view things in a best interest of the Jets perspective I did the same thing Sanchez supporters did with Revis I didn't wanna let him go but he's gone
You're right about casual fans but we're fans of this team so we're a little more knowledgeable. People that thought there was a QB competition last year were on the outside looking in. Even regular NFL fans assumed the same thing. I bet there are teams/players that we get our info from based on how the media portrays them.
Muck Sanchez is, and has always been, total dog shit. Every day that passes is a great day, because it is one day closer to the day when Muck will be cut and never disgrace the field of play again.
haha i love how you roll in every few days or a week and disregard all of the bullshit and get right to the fact that sancho is horseshit.
Here's the simple truth, a QB will make a star out of a receiver far more often than a receiver will make a star out of a QB. I could make a list a mile long of "good" receivers that became bad after going to a team that didn't have star QB or "poor" receivers who became good after going to a team with a stud QB. However, the list of stud receivers who moved to teams with poor QB situations and made the QB a star is very few and far between. Case in point, Arizona last year had one of the best receivers in the league in Fitzgerald how much did that help the Cardinals QB's? The thing is no matter how good a receiver is if the QB can't get him the ball accurately, and hopefully in stride, you could have a team full of Jerry Rices and the team would under perform compared to how it SHOULD perform. But a good QB can make a poor receiver look better by getting the ball to them on time and accurately, again hopefully in stride. Here's the thing, I've been going through Jets receivers who have played under QB's other than Sanchez and almost universally so far their catch percentage has been lower under Sanchez than with the QB's who came before or after Having Sanchez as their QB, and almost universally so far (granted I've only completed 4 receivers so far, Holmes, Edwards, Cotch, and Keller) Under Sanchez their catch percentage has been 5-10% lower than under other QB's. Catch percentage being receptions divided by times targeted. And here's the thing about blaming OC's. Yes a bad OC will hamper a game performance in terms of strategy. Howver, a bad OC doesn't make a QB throw off target, behind recievers, late, throws in to double and triple coverage, etc. An OC doesn't stand by the QB prior to the snap and during the snap and drop back telling the QB how the play is developing...that's all on the QB. And here's the thing. If you've watched Sanchez all this time then you know that the throw that gets a receiver in stride or on target is the rarity, he frequently doesn't see open receivers and when he does he often hesitates and waits too long before delivering the ball. How many good QB's do you see pump fake when the receiver is already wide open? Hint, a pump fake is to try to get a defender to bite prematurely. Sanchez's almost consistent pump fakes and double pump fakes have become legendary around the league, and not in a good way. these are things that are all on the QB. Yes you can post youtube videos of some good throws Sanchez has made, and he has made some. The problem is the bad throws far outweigh the good throws in terms of quantity. He far too often leaves receivers vulnerable and prior to the recent NFL movement to protect vulnerable receivers he would be getting receivers killed, almost literally. These are all things that show up obliquely in the box scores but only when you watch the game and focus on Sanchez and where the throws were, when they were and under what circumstances they were that you begin to see the problems. Some of those things can be coached, but others, like anticipation, can't be. a player either has it or he doesn't.
Again Junc, the 1/4 of the season was an accurate statement, you are just trying to deflect because you know your argument is standing on thin air...Just to reiterate, since you insist on judging by the 15 games Sanchez did play in then Sanchez cost the team 27% of their games instead of 25% of their games, so your insistence on that toss away point actually makes him look WORSE. We'll just label that part of your argument a butt fumble. yep it's like a Dallas-Buffalo SuperBowl...and your Miami sitting at home watching it.
