Brian Costello @BrianCoz 9m WR Stephen hill is back out at practice. DL Sheldon Richardson looks like he'll practice. Day off for WR Braylon Edwards and TE k. Winslow Expand 3rd day Geno is scheduled to run with the ones. All 3 times Edwards and Winslow had the day off. wtf?
Geno will never get the chemistry he needs with our starting WR and starting TE sitting out everytime he runs with the #1's.
Actually, I'll take the positive with this...if Geno can impress with the 2nd tier receivers then when they make the "decision" and he finally gets all the time with the other guys it will look THAT much better! There will be plenty of time to gel once the decision is made. It's really moot considering they are down to one practice a day.
I'm really starting to worry about this. Hamstring injuries can lay dormant without truly knowing the real condition of the injury. Hopefully they're just being extra cautious here, but I'm beginning to have my doubts about Ivory this year.
Dude will play 8 games tops.. Those hamstring injuries are no joke.. I used to run track and it nagged me my whole high school junior season.. If you do not properly heal it, forget about it.
from everything i have heard they are making sure not to rush him so its not a nagging thing all year. im not worried yet but if this is still going on 2-3 weeks from now i might start getting concerned.
He's an aggressive downhill runner. Last thing we need is him to tweak the hamstring even worse in some non contact nonsense. We all wanna see him ome out & prove his worth..but rushing him back isn't worth it.
No point in rushing back to practice if you have a hamstring injury. It needs to fully heal before he practices or it will linger all season.
Exactly my point. This injury could be worse than what they originally thought. I know its still early in TC, but still makes me nervous that he hasn't performed in drills yet.
unless its torn it is what it is. they take forever. even when you think its good bc youre walking fine and all, as soon as you run it hurts. they take a good month in all honesty to heal right. i had a hammy issue a few years ago during softball. it was the worst. tried to rush it and reinjured it on the very first run to first. just give him time.
Chris Lopresti @CLoprestiWFAN 7m Powell beats Mauga on a wheel route and Geno hits him in stride up the right sideline for a long gain. #NYJ Brian Costello @BrianCoz 2m McKnight picks up a first down in a live tackling drill on third and short #NYJ Joe Caporoso @TurnOnTheJets 4m There's a new wrinkle in #Jets playbook RT @RichCimini Geno Smith to Bilal Powell for 40 yards on a wheel route. Beats Josh Mauga. #Jets
Manish Mehta Geno Smith with a great 40 yard completion to Bilal Powell in the face of heavy pressure from Harrison and Pace. #nyj 11:21AM EDT
Why do you follow that douchebag? My twitter experience has become much better since I stopped following Manish and Cimini. Chris Lopresti @CLoprestiWFAN 28s Not much from Geno in 7-on-7. Two longer attempts were incomplete. Hit on some shorter routes. Sanchez up now. #NYJ
Actually not following anyone ... just reading the tweet page that TGG carries. Rich Cimini LT Oday Aboushi blown up by Troy Davis in 1 on 1 pass rushing drill. #Jets (I think Troy Davis could be a find, but to read his daily multiple tweets, you have to wonder about his maturity) 11:33AM EDT
Damn right. I've had hammy issues, and cringe anytime I see an athlete pull up with one. You absolutely can't play with a bad pull. No way. And, I don't understand when the word "sore" is used when discussing hamstring pulls. It's all or nothing - no in between. It's not "sore", it's non-functional. It's not like you can put up with the pain. Your leg doesn't work. Anyone ever tear one? The back of your leg turns purple - even more at your foot where the blood pools. I hope they rest him another week or so.
Eric Allen Good route from Stephen Hill in 7 on 7 and 6 is on the $. Sanchez then scans the field and finds Kerley for a long gainer. 11:35AM EDT ------- Both QB's seem to be connecting.
