@Murrell (for some reason when I try to quote only you I get "this thread has been closed")

The report was "tightness" which may just be precautionary due to tightness the other day.

But if the guy actually suffered a pull previously and they aren't reporting it, this guy will be a ghost this year.

Hope I'm not breaking any rules or anything if linking to my own post, just figured it was the "cleanest" way of doing it instead of re-posting the same message from another thread:

I consider Brad Smith plays more deception than lining up and beating a D.

The 2 Buf games skew everything b/c they were so bad against the run, our backups destroyed them in week 17.

vs. NE we took over in the 2nd half passing the ball
at Mia we took control passing the ball
Minny was a combo, it was impressive no one turned it over.
Cincy was mostly Brad Smith, LT/Greene averaged under 4 YPC
Det we won through the air
Chi Greene ran it well, LT did not

That doesn't say a lot about Smith then, why is it an insult to think Smith could be close to Sanchez? By saying this we must all think Smith sucks.

Because today, right now...the Jets have a legit shot at coming out of the gate red hot, amd making the playoffs.

I think, 3 years is the right question, but thats they point of starting Sanchez

This team, has no business losing to Buffalo,Tenn, Tampon Bay, with a veteran starter, (and one that is capable of beating NE) Geno, isnt going anywhere for quite sometime.

Where did I say it was an insult? Even if Sanchez is doing well, and Smith is close to him, Geno should start. I don't think he sucks at all. If your rookie QB who has never played WCO or an NFL game is that close to a 4 year starter who has played in a very similar system to the one being installed...

...the odds are better with the rookie than the incumbent. This isn't just a game of now, it's a game of futures.

I'd prefer that Sanchez blow him out of the water and win the job outright with the skills we saw in the '09/'10 playoffs, in week one last season, in a number of regular season games that many hating fans claim never happened, but you go with the hot hand.

In the kind of scenario you stated, given the circumstances, Geno is the hot hand.

    Aikman was good

Point being Sanchez brings negative attention to himself doing things that aren't exactly bad but dumb

Yes, Im sure, pointing out of four playoff wins, and exactly ONE losing season, in four years, playing on a shit offense Needs to be excused away.

That's not your point. Your point is that a QB doing dumb things is forgivable if he wins.

If you think geno being close to mark says mark has no business being a starter that can't say a lot about Smith.

I am anxious to see preseason games, it sounds like Smith has a slight edge so far but I want to see them w/ my own eyes.

    Stupidity, not so much.

The thing is, I wish I would have seen this ultra dominant Jets offense, with star skill players, and brilliant up and coming OC, that was held back by this piece of crap.

Smith is a fucking ROOKIE. A 5th year vet that you homers believe is so amazing hasn't been able to beat him out. I'm sorry, but a 5th year starter taken 5th overall should be DESTROYING a 2nd round rookie.

Sanchez has had a good camp so far. I give him credit. The problem is that he's in his 5th year as a starting pro and a rookie is performing just as well as (if not better than) him. That is a fucking disgrace.

You're misinterpreting my comment by construing it as an insult to Sanchez, even though you depict it as an insult toward Smith. It's so difficult dealing with people who struggle to grasp the English language.

If Sanchez looks good in preseason and Geno looks like he is closing on him, it's a better bet to go with the rookie in this day and age. Sanchez should be a light year ahead of Smith if he does well. If he isn't, it could be an indication of how GOOD Smith is.

And in that case, Sanchez has no business starting week one when the Jets could really have found a diamond in round two and could be preparing him for greatness.

It's a game of present and future.

    Incorrect on two counts.

First, if somebody is overly supportive of Sanchez, in no way does that make them a homer.

Second, if Sanchez is doing well in camp (as you just admitted) and the rookie is doing just as well, that's not a disgrace on the vet's part. It's impressive on the rookie's. Stop letting hate for Sanchez destroy your grasp on logic.

It comes across as an insult to Smith. I get your point though.

Seeing how yet another thread has turned into a Sanchez thread is why he needs to go away and never take a snap on this team again.
