If a meteor comes down and hits Sanchez in the achilles during training camp, we'll know god is on our side.

Will there be a "number one, or even number 2" at WR, TE, and RB? Cause there wasnt last year.

It wont be easy for any QB if its anything like last season.

    damn dude, relax.

if he starts and sucks he gets benched and its over, no need to wish harm on the guy.

I prefer Geno to start only because I see the potential but sitting until the bye week might be best for him

He'd still get meaningful PT in the preseason

He's further ahead than a guy like Kaepernick was his rookie year so he'd likely be able to play sooner

hope not. if it wasn't for the cap hit, it should be between mcelroy and smith.

you do not want starter who turns over the ball as much as el taco.

my depth chart: smith, mcelroy, simms. el taco holds the clipboard , and his money gets charged to the office budget.....

I went the other way. The reports far are that they are even. If they guys are even now, I'm going with the player I believe has the higher upside in Geno.

Exactly. If it's even, there is no way they go with Sanchez, who will likely not be on the roster next year.

The only way Smith doesn't start is if he shows he is not ready, or if Sanchez blows him away in camp.

    Sanchez will start the season.

Geno will be starting by week 5 or 6.

    Sanchez is shit.

If he starts i'll be pissed off!

Smith can step in and be as effective as RW was last year for the Hawks... Who by the way have a strong D and weak WR's...

    Sounds familiar!

If there is one thing I've learned in my years as a sports fan, it's always the shittiest of players who are rarely injured.

I want the best man to win, whoever that may be, but went with Geno.
    Braylon nails it...

    - Braylon Edwards, emphasizing that Mark Sanchez has zero room for error as a Jets quarterback

....and what else Geno brings to the team.

Its going to be a very interesting battle

As LTJF says, Geno will start when he's ready.
I dont know if Week 1 will be that time so I had to go with Suckhez although I'm 100% Geno.

Braylon was on first hand for Wilson blowing away Seattle

He's compared Geno to him and so have many

    They're really similar

Its crazy cause he said Russel Wilson was better than Sanchez about this time a year ago, and that turned out to be a fact as the season played out

The odds of Geno started took a leap with Rex acknowledging that it will be a "group" decision on who starts this year. Cannot imagine Idzik wanting to support the QB that got his predecessor fired, and remember they seriously considered Geno at 13 and had we got Austin almost surely would have picked him there. Geno is Idziks and I think from the things he has said MMs guy.

I'm of the opinion that Sanchez needs to show he's significantly better than Geno if he should get the nod, not the other way around. Going into year 5, shouldn't he be quite a bit better than a rookie? If he isn't, then start Geno, who is bound to improve with experience...at least that would be the hope. This is about the future as much as it is the present.

I really have no idea who is going to start week 1, but I expect Geno to start at one point. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Sanchez started the first game then lose his gig later on...but, like somebody else said, if you project THAT happening, why not just start Geno in the first place if they feel he can handle it. I don't expect they'll play musical chairs at the position. If Sanchez loses his starting role, it'll be hard to justify putting him back in there barring injury or Geno actually embarrassing himself...I mean playing REALLY badly.
