This on the job training of Wheeler isn't working out so great.

Mets bullpen now huddling together, to try to figure out how to blow it this time.

Amazing to me that Wheeler could get his 4th win today with the way that he's pitched, yet Harvey only has 8 wins.

It really does show you how much of the game is luck. With the exception of a couple of starts Wheeler has been nothing special, and Harvey has very possibly been the best pitcher in baseball - yet Harvey has 8 wins in 20 starts, and Wheeler has 4 wins in 7 starts.

Sure is, and Wright almost followed him.

Just had a feeling that after scoring 11 in game 1 they would give Harvey nada in the second.

It won't be a 6 man long ...I think they want to see what they have with meija....he's still only 23..I can see us trading a Hefner or Gee to someone in need of a no 3 or 4 who will over value their talents ...wouldn't be at all surprised with something like a hefner', valdespin and buck package for a OF under contract next year.

Nice to see my man Lagares finally getting his at bats and proving he is a long term solution.

Please please do not put Dud a back in LF when he comes back!!!!! Getting used to watching a quick outfield!

Looking good for 2014 people......get a good SS, OF and we won't be far off challenging .

Incredible once again - Harvey is lights out, and he gets a no decision in a 2-1 loss. Absolutely ridiculous.

Lagares is a good fielder, and has a good game one last night. But he could have easily won the game in the 9th last night and blew it. It was 1st and 3rd, 1 out, 3-1 count and he pops it up.

Then again, he was only the second goat last night to Murph.

Wheeler with a no hitter into the 7th and Buck wins it in the 10th. If the Mets win at the same pace in the last 58 games they've played the past 49 they end up 82-80, so over .500 has to be the goal for the season at this point.

one of the stats being bandied about (Vin Scully mentioned it last night) is that Mariano Rivera has the lowest WHIP among pitchers since Addie Joss and Ed Walsh.

It's not true. Maybe if they add on some kind of innings needed to qualify, which you have to do when saying such things.

    Rivera's WHIP: 1.002
    Craig Kimbrel's WHIP: .917
Matt Harvey's WHIP: .959 (best in MLB history for a SP through his first 31 starts)

And others have had a lower career WHIP. Rivera has pitched 1259 innings, so I'd guess they're doing something like "minimum 1,000 innings pitched" or "minimum 300 games pitched" (while of course failing to mention this qualifier).

The Mets have not won in Harvey's four starts against the Marlins, although Harvey has not pitched that poorly.

    23 IP, 28 H, 9 R, 4 BB, 26 K

He had a no decision in the first three starts and took a loss today.

If anyone still cares about Valdespin suspended for Biogenesis. When David went down I thought we would finally see Wilmer Flores in the major. What's the deal?

I can't think of a single reason what Valdespin should ever wear a Mets uniform again. Besides always being a jackass, now it turns out he's a cheater. And of course, he's not that good, either.
