I don't think he is essentially soft.

He was killed in the backfield a number of times in '09 and '10 workout developing happy feet. He also had to be shamed and disciplined for the way he would scramble for yards, fight through tackles and not slide.

It wasn't until 2011 that the soft talk started, after that Ravens game. Even after that game, he played tough.

It was a combination of the Denver game that year when he got completely murdered, compliments of Wayne Hunter, and then a couple of weeks later when Jason Babin gave him a surgical shot after the whistle blew during the Eagles game, that he turned into a tap dancer under center.

I don't remember anyone calling him soft during his first two seasons.

And if some random doofus did, he didn't know what he was watching.

Being injured doesn't make you soft. But if you don't seriously address that injury after 2 seasons, it does make you stupid.

LOL. The only reason Favre agreed to come to the Jets was so he could bail after a season and go to the Vikings.

The rest of your post is also idiotic and without basis.

Can't tell if joking, trolling, or dumb.. Did you actually watch that video?

I'd take Sanchez over Favre in that game 10/10. Those "missed" WRs actually were decent throws and nearly hands on the ball in both cases. Wasn't perfect but it was there. In fair weather I would give 50/50 shot on Cotchery making that catch, Looks like he thought he was gonna get the flag also. Keller could / should have made that catch. Sanchez also didn't turn the ball over 3 times?

What I saw was a bunch of old, slow, injured players that are no longer on our defense.

"appeared to be garbage time at the time"

come on man. I'm with you on the Minny game but this is one of those quotes where you are clearly overreaching your argument to make Favre look worse.

Your overall points are usually solid but when you break down in detail with quotes like this it shows questionable logic.

Reading from your second grade report card again?

You do realize, that almost all modern offense, derives from Paul Brown, then splits between Erhardt-perkins, Coryell, and Bill Walsh ? Do you know anything about this game? (just so you are aware Schotty, is a Coryell guy. Which explains Too many throws outside the numbers down the field)

Institutional knowledge, only the way every major corporation on the planet operates, and FWIW, if you need an actual sports example, try the St.Louis Cardinals. They have an institurional playbook, that describes how they play every aspect of the game, and they hold it as close as the secret to Coca cola.

But hey...its never helped them win multiple world championships....

(p.s. it also what NE has done since Weis left. They didnt change the playbook, or style of offense, they kt one knowledge base...and refined it.)

P.S. as to rule changes? You are out of your mind. Fans like scoring, and the NFL changes its rules accordingly.

    The Polian Rule.

    The two poiint conversion

    Quarterbacks in skirts...

    ESPN weighs in.

in fact your assertion that the rules changes havent been in favor of the offense, may be more retarded than anything Raiderjoe ever wrote.

    Show of hands?

Dude... What "assertion"?...I said "until they change the rules". I didn't say offense, defense, or specify anything in particular.

Now apologize or I'll form on alliance with BeastBeach.

Too bad we can't be more like the St. Louis Cardinals.

Maybe we can talk Joe Torre into being the head coach.

    You too funny Hobbes...

Soft? The guy missed what, one game due to injury?

I would say, any QB playing behind WFH, and then Austin Howards on the job training..would be better described as survivalist, rather than skittish.

P.S. any reasonable estimation of the Coryell branch, includes the phrase QB killer(sacks)...Coupled with a shit RT, thats exponential weakness.

(dude, thanks for the link. That playbook...the passing phase...is pretty brilliant. The first 3 reads in the progression generally boil down to one line of sight, reducing read to a matter of velocity and angle) the second read, isnt even a read, its a dump off behind the clear out.

Denver should tell Peyton to "shut up and just do it The Bronco Way".

You said the average fan thinks they only change the rules to help the offense.

    But hey. Denial is cool.

Its one thing to have opinions people can say they disagree with, but Acad, your denial of objective reality, is like watching a car wreck.

Much like Favre, in 2008, Manning is the defacto OC, in Denver.

Which basically means he's running Moores offense. In that instance, mannng, not Denver os the institution.

But then again, every NFL QB was produced as an offspring of an all time great and basically groomed for the job since suckling.

Much like Belichick as a coach, as well.

Individuals, can be storehouses of institutional knowledge.

I guess the term Construct ( as well as explicit and tactical knowledge) are a bit beyond your ken?

Maybe they'll cover that in fourth grade, and we can revisit.

Remind me again how many world championships they've won?

    11?

    Yes, it is.

Whats really sad is you cant ascend to the reasoning level of a 3rd grade short bus student.

I stand by what I said. I was referring to the rule changes that benefit the offense. Then you said the word "only". That's simply not true.

And if you think the rule changes of the last decade or so can be accommodated by some "tweaks"...well, get on with your bad self.

I think I figured out Hobbes' problem.

He thinks the Jets play baseball.

He was fooled by our low scoring offense...
