Brian Costello @BrianCoz 46m Joe McKnight failed the conditioning test, per source. That is why he landed on PUP. #NYJ Didn't this guy throw up at practice last year? Shit...work out
Mcknight lacks the discipline to ever live up to his potential.Throwing up at his rookie camp was really no big deal & is common early on in camp. That said,w/ the way the media blew up the story you'd like to think he learned his lesson. He clearly hasn't. The big talk from earlier this off season was just that.Big talk. Still though..he's an awfully good kick returner.
what happened to all the tough talk about how they'd have to kill him in order to take the starting RB job away from him
^^^ Joe McKnight, May 16, 2013: "They're going to have to kill me to take my spot." So he shows up and can't pass a conditioning test? _____________________________________________ Mike Goodson: placed on the "reserve/did not report" list. Rex Ryan: "We knew Mike was not going to report and we understand why he's not here." This obviously is tied into his current legal issues; anyone hear anything? _______________________________________________
+1 Pretty friggin disappointing from McKnight, especially after all his talk about earning the starting spot or die trying BS. Hopefully McKnight gets his sht together and comes on strong this year......but at this point that looks highly doubtful. Hope he proves me wrong.
Some people just don't take advantage of the opportunities they're given. McKnight is one of those folks. Perhaps a change of scenery will do him some good but for right now, His stock has to be mighty low and if they find a viable alternative for KR, McKnight just might find himself on the bench waving a towel.
Another example of why all the quotes and articles and rah rah stuff in the offseason means squat ! It's all BS until the real stuff begins,,,,,we find out more beginning tomorrow !
Not saying they are going to but if the Jets wanted to go the "change of scenery" route w/ Mcknight they my actually be able to trade him for something. He's a pro bowl level kick returner. Jets have been spoiled w/ the some good ones(and a good ST system) but most other teams are not so fortunate. They are valued commodities. He's still young, effective & cheap. Maybe a player for player and Jets get back a WR needing a change.
I've heard that zach rodgers was given some time as kick returner. not sure whats going on with Joe, but he might lose his biggest asset to making the team.
i heard this on the radio a little while ago. i must say i was not at all surprised. this is the type of stuff you expect from mcknight, he has been doing it since he started getting paid by usc.
"They're gonna have to kill me to take my spot." -McKnight, May 2013 Looks like youre killing yourself Joe.
