This is a personal attack: "You should watch more football instead of collecting meaningless fantasy #s." Made by Junc when I was clearly out debating him, countering his opinions with facts. Since he decided to turn it into a contest of insults, I decided I'd win at that too.
There are quite a few people on this board that would have you believe it's impossible for Sanchez to throw it 44 times without a butt fumble or a pick,.. so that's a pretty solid game if you ask me,. haha.
you have no idea what you are talking about, you can insult all you want but it would be better if you spent time learning about this game so you won't look quite as foolish in the future. :rofl2: YOU outdebating ME:rofl2: even the anti Sanchez guys aren't coming to your defense, that should tell you how awful your weak argument was.
The funny thing is that while I wholeheartedly agree that watching the games is a FAR better way to analyze the games than looking at box scores, it is absolutely not any more objective when you are looking at it through your lens and posting your interpretation of what happened. Obviously somebody that supports Sanchez is going to minimize his errors and overplay his contribution. Whereas somebody that doesn't is going to do the opposite. Watching the games does not equal unbiased interpretation. No matter what some might claim. Not trying to get into another debate because I accept nyjunc's viewpoint on this game, but that 2nd Miami game in 2011 is a good example. I'm placing more importance on the QB playing bad in that game and nyjunc is placing more blame on the D. Both of us may be biased, one of us, or neither. There is no "real" truth in there. That's why this debate has raged for so long.
That game was played in a monsoon, I got caught in it. It began just before halftime, it was like a giant faucet was turned on. I froze being soaked the 2nd half. That was not a fun night to sit in the stands. I think that game was delayed by lightning if I recall correctly. yes it was:
If you want to be taken seriously you need to combine the two. I don't take anyone serious if they throw stats and only stats. The games Junc mentioned. He played well given his role. Minimize the TOs and win games late if it comes down to it. I have to side with Junc there. And I'm rooting for both Mark and Geno.
I have never absolved him from blame in that 2nd meeting of 2011, I simply stated a fact that the D gets their blame as well. mark was terrible but folks think it was all on him and it wasn't. we held a lead in the 3rd qtr until an awful offense put together one of the longest TD drives I have ever seen.
I am rooting for Mark and Geno too. I just want to win, I am confident we can w/ mark, I am hopeful we can w/ geno. Whoever wins for us doesn't matter to me.
And that is fine but if you are going to say something like that, just realize that a lot of QBs in this league have a role more than "minimize TOs and win games late if it comes down to it" and judge them accordingly. If they are given more responsibility then don't judge them more harshly because they are asked to do more.
I don't think any game has ever been ALL on one player. The difference is where we put majority blame. Again, not going to debate this again because I've said my piece. But this thread has gotten ridiculous with people putting words in other's mouths and going to the extreme ends of the "haters"/"lovers" arguments in order to make a point. Just because one idiot "hater" on the complete end of the spectrum said something dumb doesn't mean you get to cast that view on the people that think he sucks. And that is happening a lot on both sides.
It's fucking stupid that Junc makes that argument because it's obvious we all watch the games or we wouldn't be here. My fucking wife watches the games too, it doesn't mean you know what the fuck is going on. Junc is about on her level of understanding football.
Watching and understanding are 2 totally different things. by saying he was awful vs. Minny, Pitt, Den you are showing you don't fully understand what you are watching. If your wife is on my level you should probably spend more time w/ her and have her explain what is going on as you watch.
The team was built on running the football and playing defense. It wasn't built on strong QB play. You look at the Jets draft in recent years and it was geared towards creating an elite defense, not an effective offense. Every decision you make as a team should include the QB and it's impact. When it was time to give more responsibility to Mark, they had Holmes and Plaxico out there as starting WRs. If you are going to increase the responsibility, you best believe you better increase the resources.
I don't think people take this into consideration. I did from the start because all I want is wins no matter how ugly. Winning ugly during the regular season can help you in the playoffs because each game is a dog fight.
I'm sure you're level of understanding is pretty high since your arguments are like bullshit from "around the horn"
If you draft a QB at 5 and pay him big money you better believe you expect strong QB play. And don't act like when Holmes and Plax were acquired that most on this forum were excited about those weapons.
I agree you draft a QB at 5 you have to do everything in your power as an organization to make him succeed. At the same time the Jets with Rex are building a defense. So how do you go about doing two things at once through the draft and FA. I was a minority I didn't like the Holmes contract or Plax. I liked it when we had Braylon Cotchery and Keller as the top options.
you told us all we need to know about your knowledge when you called the Minny and Pitt games bad games for Mark. Stop digging a deeper hole.
They are shit. If you want to pretend that pro QB's can't play in the rain, it just makes you look like more of an idiot.
