Kellen Winslow Jr. @KellenWinslowJr #BRAYLONISBACK #JETS Well, according to this, it looks like Braylon is going to sign with us if he hasn't already.
And to add to that: Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN 53s Braylon Edwards is taking a physical for the Jets today, I'm told. A reunion is forthcoming #nyj
Beware, the Braylon man-love is coming. Glad to hear it. He always loved being here and looked like he had some left last year.
Yes!!!!! Finally! I kinda figured it would be inevitable. We need WR depth more than anything right now. I don't expect Holmes to be 100% until at least a few games in and Braylon's also a good blocker and can fight for tough grabs. He fits, and bringing him in before training camp is crucial.
Thank goodness we have a full year with him again. I am confused though, last year Jordan White gave Braylon his #17 back. But on Jordan Whites wiki page, it has him in #17 again? So did Jordan take it back? lol and will he give it up again? :O
yes he did, hopefully he gives it back again. I have high hopes for White though, I think he can contribute.
That's really funny lol, White will definitely give it up again. I remember reading him talking about why he gave it up for free last time, he really respects Braylon. Hopefully he picks a cool number unlike 83
Glad Braylon is back, and you have to wonder now if Holmes goes on the temporary IR at the beginning of the season.
Holmes, Braylon and Kerley are not too bad of a 1-2-3 WR Corp. Imagine if Stephen Hill actually improves too. Could turn out to be not so bad.
This, if Hill can improve, Holmes get healthy this is actually a half decent wr corp. If one other receiver emerges then we will have an excellent one.
Beyond the fact that Braylon will forever be a fan-favorite (and rightfully so), he can really help this team out this year, especially Geno should the Jets make the right choice and go with him. In the WCO, he can be the vertical threat. He can jump up and grab the ball, which you need from your vertical WR. He's going to open up the middle of the field for Kerley and if he's ever healthy, Holmes. Or hell, even Goodson. Great signing all around should it happen. Probably cheap and he can help in more ways than one.
I look forward to his bad-ass run-blocking on spread runs and his vertical on jump balls, but he's probably the backup to Hill at this point. Still nice to see him sign.
I guess it doesn't hurt anything since he will likely get the minimum. But I'm extremely skeptical. He's a deep threat type of receiver who no longer has deep speed. Not sure how that equates to improvement over what the Jets already have(Which beyond potential is not much). Hope he succeeds & proves me wrong. And again...this doesn't really disrupt anything
