doesn't matter where the clouds come from. a solar system is a specific term given to a specific stage of development. you may as well say the solar system is 13 billion years old, because where did the cloud come from? from the big bang. that isn't how these things work.
It really depends on how crucial the supernova were in the formation of life. We were talking about the timetable on the development of life, not the technical beginning of the solar system. I misconstrued the terminology of 'solar system' and 'star system' and took "The universe" show as truth, so that part is my fault. It still doesn't matter. If life cannot form without supernova, then you have to count that on the time table for the development of life and it would also mean that during the first 5 billion or so years of the universe, there was no life in the universe, despite there being millions of solar systems.
