along the same lines as Dave Roberts: I'm watching Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN. According to the scroll, "Texas pitcher" Greg Holland was named as a replacement to the AL All Star team.
MLB @MLB 6s BREAKING: Ryan Braun suspended without pay for remainder of 2013 season for violations of Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Biogenesis now gets all the credit and now the rest will get suspended. It is the dark ages all over again. This is terrible, A-Rod probably done for a year +
The A's and Rangers will get hit hard as I think I've seen Bartolo's fat ass on the list as is Nelson Cruz.
I wonder if Colon might be able to escape by claiming that his previous suspension was due to what he got from Biogenesis, thus he has already been punished for it.
That's a very interesting thought and one I had not considered. However the one fault with that of course could be dates the biogenesis guy will say he gave the stuff to Bartolo. If they don't match I could see a probelm because it seems MLB is taking what this guy says seriously.
All this talk about Puig, and nothing about Hanley Ramirez who has been better over the same amount of games?
He's been great too. Puig obviously getting more attention because he's a rookie, and because of his style of play. Puig and Hanley made the difference for LA.
Cliff Lee scratched from tomorrow's start. Phillies say "stiff neck", but he may be getting dealt. Have to wait and see.
Sunday Night Baseball announcers on ESPN said Shelby Miller should be in the minors because his curve isn't good enough. Then today, the headline for the MLB section on espn.com:
Corey Brock @FollowThePadres 10m The #Padres deal with the #Dbacks: Get RHP Ian Kennedy for LHP Joe Thatcher, RHP Matt Stites (Double-A) and a draft pick (comp B).
LJ Hoes was in the first lineup the Orioles released today. Then the Orioles and Astros completed the Bud Norris deal and he got slotted into Houston's lineup. Possibly the first player ever to be in both lineups in the same game.
