Both of your examples are completely irrelevant. A) this is a new regime and project picks will not be taken in the first 2 rounds B) we were in a position to wait for a player to develop when we drafted Ducasse C) we are not in a position to simply draft a #2 QB strictly on value when our positional group is shit.

Im not sure why you revert to name calling; it makes everything you say after that childish.

I just dont understand how you come to the conclusion that the Jets are fully committed to Sanchez after drafting the #1 QB in the draft. Ive gone through this countless times, but here it goes again. The Jets had pick 13 narrowed down to Richardson and Geno. Clearly, they thought both had good value, and would address positional need. They pick Richardson, and Geno free falls with no teams needing QBs. Then comes the 2nd round, when theres talks of the Jets wanting to trade up for Geno. They can not find a partner, but land Geno at their original pick. You honestly think they had that much interest in a QB even though you think they are fully committed to their current QB?

Yeah, because that makes sense. You have to at least admit that its not a pat on the back for Sanchez...

2nd round picks are generally expected to contribute immediately in today's NFL. Tannenbaum retardedly taking a project at the end of the second round has nothing to do with that.

I think you are misinterpreting what exactly laxin is saying, mainly due to the unneeded animosity present at the beginning of the post. From my understanding he's not saying that Geno IS the starter or that Sanchez is done. Merely that they are not committed to Sanchez, financially, sentimentally or what have you and that there is TRULY a chance of him losing his job. Not like last year with the Tebow BS.

And nor are they committed to Geno in any of these ways. That's the beauty of getting Geno in the second round. With the rookie wage scale there is absolutely no financial commitment and because he was a second round pick it's not a big deal if Geno doesn't pan out.

I like it this way. No more committing to projects that won't work. If neither Geno or Sanchez work out and the Jets have a rough year they are still in a fine position to get a QB in the 2014 draft.

You are right on the money. I have said it many times, we should be rooting for every single Jet to be successful. It's a win win situation for the team. If a good player doesn't make the cut, then it provides some trade value. It's an ideal situation to have multiple talent at each position. In fact it's a dream only great teams have.
The opposite really sucks, that its the case were you have to field a mediocre player as a starter.
We should hope and pray for both Geno and Sanchez to play lights out.

You can "root" all you want, it doesn't change change a thing.

    We're stuck with "the opposite".

    Root your little hearts out.

Hey, isn't it about time for a "Geno Smith just sucks... just sucks" thread? Might as well start the bashing early. We know it's not going to stop, and that it will get worse if he ever starts. Just like the Fire Idzik thread haha.

No they weren't at all......... Pennington was coming off ANOTHER shoulder injury and no one was sure he could play, and Wayne Hunter sucks as did Slauson, and moore was getting older, so another lineman was a good choice.

The fact that they blew both those picks doesn't change that.

Not really. I don't know when the Sanchez sucks thread started, but he did have his worst year ever last year and it continued the downward spiral way he ended the 2011 season. There is reason to complain about his play. To complain about other stuff, that's annoying.

Tanny sucks also, not sure when that idea started, but we do see that he was good at building a team to win now, but he hung onto the win now approach too long and left us short on depth, short on young players, and strapped for cash. The life of a GM is rough, you can't screw up to where the team needs a rebuild. Unless you left Super Bowls behind, the team usually wants a fresh set of eyes and fresh face for the rebuild. Way it works, and Tanny built the team up, and injuries and some misses in FA and draft brought the team down.

If you hand Rex Ryan decent players on defense you're setting a reasonable floor for the team. That's basically what happened in 2009 and 2010. There was enough defensive talent that the Jets were going to have decent records and maybe make the playoffs.

If you let the offense go to seed you're going to crash the team. This is true for any NFL organization not just the Jets.

Having Rex around kept the going to seed phase from being 6-10 followed by 4-12.

Thank you. Exactly my thoughts. Its just being completely ignorant to think that the Jets are fully committed to Sanchez at this point.

The receiver he's throwing to can actually catch! More than we can say for about half our receivers haha.

Edit: Whelp. Didnt read that it was antonio brown. That answers that.

I realize it's just two guys playing pass & catch, but that ball looks like it gets there nice and quick and accurately.

This kid may be a diamond in the rough.

Better hope Rex is brave enough to uncover it.

You guys act like Jets West is a real passing camp, with real work being done. They play catch for a few hours that's it. Holmes went and still had problems with mark in 2011. So idk how strong the relationships they build there are
