I agree with most but its clear, Sanchez will not finish this season no matter the outcome. Jets fans have become increasingly impatient and blind. Everything that has been wrong with this team over the past two years are because of Sanchez to the majority of them and the hate is too strong to get rid of. I'll say this for the 1,000th time that this team overall sucks and will do little no matter who starts because once again the offense looks to be ignored for the D. There really is little reason to get hyped for the season knowing this. Even if Sanchez comes out hot out of training camp, he'll still have to throw to bitchy Holmes and brick Hill while Kerley has trouble leaving the line before the QB gets sacked due to a currently questionable oline. Sanchez will go and Geno will be the starter doing little to nothing because this offense sucks. Then after a season it will take 2 years to get players to go with Geno then Jet fans will lose it and call for another QB. I freaking hate what has become of this team and wished the issues were addressed years ago. That ASO trade shit has really f'ed this team up.
Laughs? About Geno-fer Lopez diva-ing out of bonding with his team matewhatever you have to tell yorself, Brownstain.
"Diva-ing" out? The whole thing is a joke. Smith needs more than bonding at this point. And if it was such a great thing, you'd see more than a dozen or so players in attendance. I just hope Sancho sent Smith a swag bag.
I have zero concerns about whether or not Sanchez can run his jets West camp:beer: my problem lies with whether or not he can run the jet offense  I read articles about this every year and how the guys are bonding at Cortland blah blah,,,,I would rather the team never get together and hate each other and play lights out than to read these warm fuzzy stories and watch the shit product on the field
There is one standard to judge QBs, how they play there position. Then there are expectations to where a QB should be on that standard. They are separate things, but people confuse them into one. Sanchez right now is bad, based on the standard to judge QBs. We can agree or disagree on why he's bad, but he's bad. However if Tom Brady were to play as Sanchez did last season, it would be bad, but be considered worse than SAnchez because of expectation. We should hold all QBs to the same standard, but based on our expectations, we might overrate or underrate QBs on that standard. Sanchez just need to show progress in his decision making, ball security, and consistency. Those things can happen with or without playmakers. If he does that, and then we add playmakers, then comes the better seasons. We will not be great for a few years at least, but I don't think it's predetermined Sanchez will be gone after this year. I do think all signs point to Sanchez struggling and the Jets letting him go, but I don't think it's set in stone as the Plan A in the Jets organization that Sanchez will be gone after this year. I am probably wrong though. IF you aren't going to address my points, why respond. Brady and Peyton you said averaged what 15 and 17 points in losses, while Brees and Rodgers and Big Ben are averaging 20 plus? If you are going to crush Peyton for that, you have to crush Brady for it too. It's a weird stat to pull out though. I mean this is why I think SBs/playoffs are an overrated way to judging QBs. 2001 Div, Tom Brady leads the Pats offense to 16 points, 1 rushing TD, no pass TDs, 1 INT, and questionable no fumble late in the game. The defense holds the Raiders to 13. 2001 Champ, Tom Brady leads the offense to 0 offensive points as he gets hurt and leaves the game. The Pats score 2 ST TDs that day and holds the Steelers to 17. Oh and in the record books Tom Brady gets a win on his record for this game. 2001 SB, Tom Brady leads the offense to 13 points, the defense has an INT for a TD. So the Tom Brady led offense averaged 12.89 points per game and won the SB. For my calculation, I took the 29 total points and divided by 2.25 games which is being nice since Bledsoe came in 1:40 left in the 1st half. If we are really nice and do 29 points divided by 2 games, we get just under 15 points per game. The same number you fault Peyton for averaging in playoff losses. Could it be there's more to winning a SB than the QB? My theory is yes, and that's why I think using SBs and playoff wins is very misleading. They should be included in the totality of the the players' career, but when the best or even one of the best QBs doesn't win the SB each year, it's hard to directly say QBs and SBs are related. I don't really know what metric to use to rank QBs, but I'm 99% sure in the last 5 years, the top 3 QBs of the regular season didn't win the SB the year they were top 3. There isn't a direct relation in being the best QB in a season and winning the SB. You think after wathcing Big Ben, Eli, and Flacco win their Super Bowls, this would be more obvious. And Rodgers was not considered elite when he won his SB. It was the year after where he threw for 45 TDs, 6 INTs, and completely dominated the league almost leading his team to 16-0 that he joined that "elite" status. Elite was tossed around like candy on halloween back in the early 2000s, but it was closer to Brady's 3rd SB than his 2nd that people considered him on of the best. Can you answer this question for me: Is Brady a better QB now in the past 6 years (5 full season) than he was in his first 6 years (5 full seasons). This breakdown leaves out the 2006 season. Because if you think Brady was better in his first 5 years, it helps me understand how you evaluate QBs and where you put the weight of the team's accomplishments in their evaluation. If you think Brady is better now in the past 5 years, the follow up question is clearly how come we use playoff wins and SBs as a primary component to judge QBs when in his first 5 seasons Brady went 10-1 in the playoffs with 3 SBs and in his past 5 seasons Brady went 5-5 in the playoffs win 0 SBs? We could do this with other QBs, but Brady has the strangest career out of QBs right now and is a good example for me to see where you are coming from. I mean to loop it all together, that's why Sanchez's play in the playoffs was very encouraging at times (NE, 1st time vs IND, 1/2 of PITT), but doesn't give him a pass on struggling the last two years. The majority of his best play, came in the playoffs which is nice, but he isn't helping us make the playoffs. The better QBs can help their teams make the playoffs, but not consistently win the division. The better QBs, and sometimes luckier ones, can consistently help their team win the division. The even better QBs, can consistently help their teams get byes in the playoffs. Using SBs and playoffs win as the primary judge, throws out 16 game year and leaves us weird results like Big Ben and Eli having more SBs and better playoff record than Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees. Who would you rather have as a QB starting next season though, it's probably Rodgers in first, Brees and Big Ben in a close 2nd/3rd and Eli 4th. And Junc, for some reason you love turning this into a Peyton Manning thing, but it's really about judging ALL QBs and how we judge them and how I'm trying to understand you judge QBs. You gravitate towards Peyton for whatever reason, but I'm talking all QBs not just him. That's why I asked the Brady question, to see how you evaluate QBs and where you place your emphasis. I personally believe SBs and playoff wins isn't a good primary emphasis. It leads to the whole Marino thing to start. Now if we are talking basketball, I would agree on the emphasis on playoff wins and championships. Because in basketball, it's one player playing defense, offense, and transition stuff aka special teams out of 12 players. Where in football it's QBs in one direction on a 53 man roster. I agree QB's consistently have more of an effect on the game than let's say a CB, but playoffs don't give you a consistency to watch, you don't get a 7 games series, you get 1 and done emphasizing the things the QB or defense or offense can't control. (Looking at you Doug Brien) Geno isn't at Jets West isn't a big deal. As long as he doesn't run to Jets West flip everyone off and then chill on a beach in Cali, he can not attend. He wants to work with someone he knows, or somewhere he was planning on going anyways, go for it.
I am sure this was from this post: Looks like you missed the point by a mile. This looks like a response from this: Nothing is set in stone, obviously. I just tend to think that, Sanchez did suck during his Jets tenure (his fault or not.) and if 2013 campaign is another fruitless endeavor, some heads will roll. Unless Sanchez shows marked improvement, his head will be rolling too - pretty simple fact.
Keep in mind his numbers are light because the jets have been crushing the Bills as of late. Why don't you look up the rushing yards in those games as well...
It's too bad he missed the go-kart races...that really would help his game. Throwing to the likes of Antonio Brown won't. None of our receivers are that good.
I think I got the point? I was just expanding why I think people start holding players to different standards, and that's because of their own expectations. Unless you were poking fun and meant that holding players to different standards is good. If you meant that, then yeah it flew way over my head Oh yeah that makes sense. I was just saying I do think the Jets still believe in Sanchez and that he could be the starting the QB but Geno was the backup plan. So Geno isn't Plan A, Sanchez still is, but they actually have a plan B instead of signing a Tebow or Brunell to back Mark up.
Cheering for Sanchez more than ever right now. He seemed to have a different demeanor in the NFLN interview, hes obviously aware the heat is on now.
http://www.nfl.com/videos/new-york-jets/0ap2000000217511/Sanchez-on-Geno-s-absence-Not-a-big-deal Don't like him under center, but I like his confidence. Maybe if he'd just bring that to the field for ONCE, we might be able to get something out of him. Hopefully Marty can pull a rabbit out of his hat and make Sanchez at least serviceable if he ends up winning the job.
I'm glad Sanchez is confident and the players are working. That's all you can ask at this point. Fuckin' work hard, learn the playbook. Not gonna read too much into Geno not being there, although it wouldn't have hurt.
