you are right. but mark has the room to make the biggest improvement. unfortunately most of us are at a point where we are hoping for him to get to average.that seems to be his ceiling now, which means we still don't have our qb.
Until Sanchez throws over 60% for a season (Full season), gets his interceptions down, and stops fumbling all the time, yes, he still sucks.
My top 10 would be: 1. Montana 2. Graham 3. Brady 4. Unitas 5. Marino 6. Elway 7. Layne 8. Starr 9. Bradshaw 10. I think I could slide Peyton into 10th There were many reasons, he was one of them. The reality is he's had one bad year in 4 years in a season where kerley was his #1 WR, Schilens and Gates got major PT and his favorite target was probably never healthy all year.
:lol::lol: Brady is so far ahead of manning it's not really a debate anymore and to say Manning is better when he was handed FOURTEEN free pts by his STs and STILL couldn't win a HOME playoff game is ludicrous even for you.
Manning gave him team a 7 point lead with 30 seconds to go and 70 yards. perhaps those are just fantasy numbers, right?
good season = <60% completions and >16 ints. show me marks good year. and i feel i am being generous with the ints
You're Jerry Jones: John Idzik offers you Mark Sanchez straight up for Tony Romo. Do you pull the trigger on that one? junc, that's an oversimplification. Chaz Shilens and Chad Shilens only? Granted not a stellar cast, but at the same time this wasn't *Sanchez&Schilens* 2-on-2 basketball. Fwiw, the Titans game featured Mark having: 1. Braylon Edwards (whom he had developed a 'chemistry' with). About Braylon: Mark had a TD to Braylon staring him in the face that he turned into an INT with an unalert non-read at the LOS compounded by a woefully late throw down the right sideline that ended up with the safety having enough time to drift over and pick the ball off while backpedeling like he was Willie Mays -- the ball was 'THAT LATE' in getting to Braylon. and he had: 2. Bilal Powell WIDE OPEN on a check down (with good pass protection) and instead pumped and myopically threw it directly into triple coverage DEEP in Titans territory and DEEP into the 4th quarter. NO help? It wasn't like Sanchez was introduced to his team mates just before the National Anthem. I won't get into the Kerley-as-DB int nor the fumble... 80% Sanchez / 20% 'D' Distorted oversimplification (see above) lol. while Lehti's quips usually slip, I'll give him a bunt single on his semi-self-deprecating "drop the blender" crack ;-) Not taking his side here junc, but just pointing out that he took a shot at Mark as running into Moore's ass at which time you promptly took it personally by firing a personal shot at him in return. Now, about those "childish insults" you often scold others about?.... You don't like to hang your hat on 'numbers'? All well and good. That said, pls. read down vvvv Before 2013 Flacco? Forget numbers junc, let's put it into context. While Sanchez has outplayed Brady in Foxboro, Flacco's outplayed him in back-to-back years up there and was within a whisker of winning back-to-back SBs. At the very end of the 2011 game at NE, Lee Evens hugs the ball and falls to the ground after Flacco put the ball in his mitts in the endzone and that game is over. Billy Cundiff with a big assist as well. Indeed, numbers don't really tell the entire "before 2013" story about Flacco. When you forget the numbers and indeed put ALL his pre-2013 playoff games into context, Flacco ends up NOT the one-year-only trick pony you're making him out to be. Remember prior to the 2011 NE game when Ed Reed essentially called him out and ended up coming full circle after the game regarding what should've been a 2011 game-winning performance by the Fighting Blue Hen. And while we're at it .... and to bring this back-and-forth ambergris full circle: you're Ozzie Newsome and Idzik's just offered you Sanchez for Flacco straight up. Do you pull the trigger on THAT one??
Your criteria for manning vs Brady and Elway vs Marino are the exact opposite. Starr, Graham, Layne c'mon...lets stick to modern era
Only a troll or an idiot would try to make a career comparison between two players who have had lengthy careers with an emphasis on one game. I'm leaning towards troll here. For the record there is a QB playing right now who has 3 of the top 4 passes completed in a season records of all time. He has 4 of the top 7 and 5 of the top 11 in that category. The same QB has 2 of the top 7 TD passes completed in a season marks. The same QB has 3 of the top 5 passing yards in a season marks. He has the 2 highest marks ever for completion percentage in a season. The same QB has won a Super Bowl. That QB did not make your top 10 of all time. That makes me lean idiot instead of troll. It's one or the other though.
Yeah, can't use that game against Manning when just the page prior he gave Brady credit for giving his team a late lead in the Super Bowl that his defense gave up. I'm sure they'll be some ridiculous reason why they aren't comparable, though.
If we're going to cherry pick individual games, Manning had a better game against Baltimore than Brady did.
Manning was given FOURTEEN FREE PTS by his STs, manning gave back 7, manning had 3 TOs that DIRECTLY led to 17 pts INCLUDING the GW FG in OT. That's reality. Stats tell PART of the story, not the whole story. Jerry isn't the brightest football mind as we have seen through the years and right now mark is damaged goods so no one would invest in him but some smart team will pick him up when we let him go. That was Braylon's first game back, we just got him late that week and he had barely played all year for Seattle. he fell into bad habits last year as usually he had no one open and he didn't trust his receivers. we were in control, we would have had at least a TD lead instead we went into the LR trailing. That is a HUGE swing in momentum. I was joking. w/in a whisker of winning back to back SBs? don't you have to get to a SB to win it? 2011 was Flacco's FIRST good postseason. Give Sanchez Flacco's weapons and you'll see similar results. Not at all, manning has had elite weapons around him from day 1. marino never had much help. We can flip flop Elway and marino, that doesn't bother me. They are close enough, manning is not close to Brady. you would know what an idiot looks like, you see one every day in your bathroom. yes it's all about one game Since you like stats, would that be the same QB that when he won his SB threw 3 TDs and 7 INTs in that postseason? a man that defeated the great Chiefs, the offensively inept Ravens(didn't lead his team to a TD in that game), barely beat NE at home when Brady's top 2 weapons were Jabar Gaffney and reche Caldwell then beat the Rex Grossman led Bears? Did Brady get 14 pts from his D/STs? did Brady throw an INT for a TD? did Brady have 3 TOs that directly led to 17 pts including the GW FG in OT? He did? Brady didn't play well but I don't think you realize how poorly manning played and how he cost his team the game.
Ok, well if you're going to rely on insults now, we can wrap this argument up. Once your cherry picked statistics get exposed, you revert to childish stuff apparently. And for the record I think Brady's career is superior to Peyton's. You cant say well Sanchez gave his team the lead only for his defense to blow it on the final possession and then direct blame towards Peyton when the same exact scenario happened to him! And Brady stunk against Baltimore, again. Manning's performance was better than Brady's. If Denvers CB doesnt fall down, Manning doesnt even throw that pick that youre probably blaming the entire game on him for.
no, the reality is despite Manning's turnovers, he still gave his team a 7 point lead with 30 seconds to go and an entire fields length that his D blew on a Hail Mary.
