I've tried it. At a state fair as well. It was a couple years ago and I'm still alive (barely) to tell about it: It's a little overhyped to be honest. Taste-wise it's a lot like pancakes in that the first couple bites are fantastic, but it gets old - quick. Overall it's worth trying though. For all the hype it gets about how terrible is it for you - I'm sure there's far worse things in this world I've eaten in my life. Is it any worse for you than the GIANT things of greasy curly fries that you see people take down like it's nothing at fairs? I doubt it...
I think i'm in the minority but I can't stand KK Doughnuts... Taste like shit w/sugar...lol (No, never actually tasted that)
That concept has been out for years. It's called the Luther Burger named after Luther Vandross who is generally giving credit for creating it.
I can't stand KK doughnuts either, they are just too sweet with too little flavor. I've tried weird combos before -- coffee with pickles, sugared sour cream to name a few, but I wouldn't eat meat + sweets. IMO it's combining 2 good flavors to kill them both.
I split one of these at the Big E (regional New England fair) with a friend. No lettuce or tomato though. It wasn't bad, just a burger with a sweet bun. Not something I'd have on a regular basis, but it isn't the horror people are making it out to be.
I would try it without the tomatoes. I might not finish the burger, but would have to try it. Dunkin has a breakfast sandwich of this which came out recently this summer that I want to try https://www.dunkindonuts.com/conten...ndwiches/Glazed_donut_breakfast_sandwich.html
Nope, they taste like shit. Now replace them with DD and I might give it a whirl. Isn't he dead? Heart attack I believe
I can actually feel my arteries clogging just thinking about eating this thing. Honestly, I'd probably skip out just because eating sweet with meat has always sort of grossed me out. I am sure you all can twist that last sentence around to mean all sorts of terrible things, so have fun.
you don't eat bacon or sausage with pancakes, waffles or french toast with syrup? that is just the most basic example. there is nothing unusual about the sweet and savory combination of meat and sweets, and if you eat the above (as most normal people do), you don't have any opposition to the combination.
That has always been the thing with them - even people who think they're great agree that you have to get them right out of the oven, or they go downhill quickly. That's why the lines would form when the "HOT" light was on in the window. When they opened a store near me the lines were ridiculous, but the store closed after only a couple of years, because people realized that most of the time they went there the donuts just weren't very good. Meanwhile, the Dunkin Donuts locations all over town just keep going and going and going...
Hell yes! give me a napkin por favor! I also want to try the bacon, egg, and cheese on a glazed donut from Dunkin
I ate that thing!! I wanted to cry after it was over. I felt like my arteries were being raped. By the way, for anyone that wants to think that Canadians are a healthy people: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Down_(sandwich) There you are, you Canadian elitists.
