Turn on other NFL games. It starts with the QB. Sanchez does things that no other starting QB in the league does, maybe besides Gabbert, who's basically done in Jacksonville anyway. The turnovers are unacceptable and as bad as the position has ever seen.
Both the QB and offensive staff share the blame here. I'm sure there is a correlation between long developing pass plays and the amount of fumbles lost when it comes to the Jets offense. You cannot continue to have plays that take 4 to 5 seconds to develop. You have to get the football out quickly! WR has nothing to do with it - that's a totally different issue as to why Sanchez hasn't played well in a Jets uniform.
You are just digging yourself a hole here pal. If you can't see that Mark Sanchez's play has deteriorated along with his offensive talent (porous line, backs that can't pick up a blitz, teams stacking the box as the jets have no threats on the outside) then you just don't understand the dynamics of football. That's ok, just don't come here and act like you know shit about football. * the topper is your Tony Romo comparison, come on man!
i dont see why we continue to get into these hypothetical arguments about this guy or that guy or this wr or that wr or this oc or that oc or this rt or that rt. why cant we just focus on the fact that mark sanchez is well below average in putting the ball where it needs to be, and i am not just talking about completion percentage, i am talking about sitting a guy down running an in against a zone. throwing to his back shoulder instead of leading him. i am talking about him putting hte ball in front of the running back out of the backfield so he can run instead of having to stop or turn or spin to catch the ball. i am talking about throwing a seam pass that doesnt get the tes clock cleaned or his knee taken out like happened last year. i am talking about him folding up under any kind of pressure instead of standing tall or getting rid of the ball. i am talking about him hitting guys in the back of hte head, not once but probably 8 times over the past 2 years. its not a coincidence, it happens when he is under pressure and gets scared. i am talking about the chucks up into any kind of coverage well before hte ball should come out that becomes a jump ball because he "feels" some kind of pressure. but hey he throws hte slant well. all this other bs about what if and win this or that doesnt fucking matter. it doesnt tell us ANYTHING about what he will do going forward. the fact he cant make the plays on a consistent basis tells us everything you need to know. if you want to debate, debate me those points. not brett favre or tony romo. those points matter, the ones that have kept this thread going for thousands of posts DONT MATTER.
what does Sanchez do better than Romo, other than these made up intangibles you're clinging to? If your argument is well you just dont know football...without even trying to discuss any relevant statistic to the matter...then maybe the shoe is on the other foot here.
I just said bigger, but thanks for bringing it up. He does have a better arm than Sanchez. I don't even need to look up the #'s. So instead of being wrong, now you're wrong twice. But Romo does throw a nice punt...just like Sanchez.
Yet you feel the need to add to the detritus. Fine. Here it is plain and simple. Marty calls a game, roughly between last years Week 1 Buffalo game, and last years St.Louis game. Insode the numbers, quick releases, low decision making. The St.Louis game, is what you should expect to see, high percentage passing, hitting guys in stride quickly, and holding the ball almost at will. That game, if you were to go back and watch it, is the Schotty sucks argument. A nutshell. Bradford, with less than a minute left before the half down six, is asked to throw an 8 yard hook route outside the numbers, if Lankster had hands, thats a pick six. Later in the same game, Eric Smith gets one at about the 20 on the other sode of the field outsode the numbers. Sparano, calls the type of game Sanchez is suited for. As a result, they dont put the ball in the air, the last 9 minutes of the game. Sanchez, can play the inside game well, when its called that way. He also has a knack for dropping it in over the shoulder. ( in that game, he hit McKnight (i cant beilieve it was) on his only reception last season, over the shoulder in the hands in stride for a big gain.
Well, if you want to call it that. If you recall the controversy over losing the Super Bowl, was because he basically kept Grudens play book, so Tampa knew everything in advance.
You got the joke. If I remember correctly, he didn't just use the playbook, he kept the terminology exactly the same.
