Don't forget an absolutely top notch, shut 'em down, never ever give up a lead defense. Don't you watch football?
Um, I posted this (below) beforehand: vvv Not at all amigo. My posts are often a tad obtuse so it stands to reason that the "pulling one's leg" kidding could've gotten lost as well. regards. on-topic: anyone hear Ron Jawarski's take on Mark yesterday? Sadly, it was not very flattering.
Yes. They won 6, with Sparano, and catastrophic injury at the skill position. Not hard to think, even the nonOC, OC could have gotten them to 8, healthy. Hill, isnt a rookie, Kerley stepped up. Cumberland is an adequate replacememt for Keller, and Smith > Rueland. And, MM, is a couple games better than his last two predecessors. Rex,routinely fields defenses....that are top 5 or so. Marty, offenses, top 10 or so. The schedule, says no worse than 3-1 to start. The back end...aint all that bad. You need one or two in the middle. Like Cincy, and Pitt
You my friend are very optimistic. Too optimistic really. to get 11 wins, everything would have to have gone right. We're new york Jets fans, we should know by now that our favorite NFL franchise will never have everything go right. Really we just have to hope enough does go right to succeed. Any given sunday right? While that might pertain to us, it might also do the same for any one of the beatable teams on our schedule.Maybe the Browns come into the Meadowlands with a swagger in their step. who knows, al i know is that something will go wrong, and we aren't better than most on paper as it stands. And you overestimate MM terribly, I mean do you really think this offense can be top 10? Or even top 15? I just want it to be able score or at least stay on the field long enough to give the defense a break. Hes not gonna be able to fix everything, our receiving corp will likely be mediocre at best along with our QB (regardless) and our running game might be above average. I really don't see 11-5 in the cards, you overestimate the new guy way too much.
You're forgetting Vick's running ability, though. Besides 2006 was the second year for White, who was a late first round pick and WR is a position that usually takes until the second or third year to really come into one's own.
Scheme/system, matters. Tremendously. Tell me again, all the great pass catchers, and backs, NE has been fielding. Welker? Maybe. Moss, was the year they put up record numbers, because of Moss on the outside and Welker underneath. Backs, meh. And Brady, fwiw....isnt a very good deep ball thrower (nor is Sanchez) but scheme matters. In 11 personnel, not many of the teams on our schedule match up well, with this cast healthy, even when Cumberland is on the field. Kerley caught 54 balls on the outside, in limitied action (after holmes went out). When hill went out, Schillens,Gates and Gilyard were playing opposite....do you really believe, that most teams field a third CB, thats going to beat Kerley in the slot? Not seeing that. Idzik, then brought in 2 home run hitters out of the backfield. In 11 personnel, when the slot guy goes out....A LB, on Goodson, or Ivory, on a short pass? In this offense? This is a team that will be able to hold onto the ball, and then will be fielding a you ger faster defensive front, that wont be gassed late. Thats not optimism. Its mildly observant.
What people dont realize is when you ask waaaay to much from a Qb, a lot of mistakes happen. These turnovers are not all because of bad ball security, its because hes under pressure, stress, etc and has no one to turn to. When he did, we didnt see turnover like we saw in the Titans game. And if you want a comparison, look at Drew Brees last season, the guy lost his HC and had so much more pressure on himself which lead to inexplicable turnovers including a 5 interception game I believe. Sanchezs biggest mistake was not asking outa here after the 2010 season.
If Stephen Hill can rise up then the Jets might have a half decent offensive weapon selection. Holmes, Hill, Kerley, RBs.
I don't see how you think we're going 11-5. That's delusional. We're in a division with tom brady. We're not winning the division. We have losses to Atlanta, New England at home (you know how it goes), Ravens, Bengals, one of the Miami games, and probably Saints. At BEST we go 10-6. And that's if Geno starts
You can call me nuts but im still holding out hope Sanchez can write his own script and become great in his 5th season. We heard all the Brees and Eli comparisons, obviously didnt work out, but maybe Sanchez can write his own story.
This is only a team that will hold on the ball if Geno starts. Sanchez does anything BUT. Guy has 50 turnovers in 2 years 26 in 2011 where you rant and rave about. The guy sucks with a capital S. I don't know if you're his mother or something, but you're blinded by lust. Sanchez starts, I give him a less than 1 percent chance of getting your prediction. If I'm wrong, I'll buy his deeply discounted jersey
Geno has a well known problem for holding onto the ball also.... Pretty sure he had something like 35 fumbles in college.
Sanchez has that many turnovers in 2 seasons. 35 fumbles over three years starting is odd, but nowhere as bad as 50 in two years
