McKnight just cannot be trusted as a RB.

He is going to have to find ways to make the team this year.
KR is his bread and butter, but not enough alone. He also cannot be trusted as a Punt returner. Special teams, WR packages, and screens are his best chance of making it, and he certainly could provide value there if he really steps it up and proves that versatility.
Having the ball in space, he is one of the fastest guys we have.

We need some big safeties... so put a very short slot corner in the safety position.

    Makes sense to me!

  3. We all rolled our eyes when it was announced that Mcknight was playing some WR in practice last season. But if you look at his body type that move would make the most sense for him going forward. He's always looked very smooth in his routes out of the backfield..I guess it would depend on his hands. Which we haven't seen alot of.

I agree with Mcknight getting more involved in the passing game, most notably the deep game. He fast enough to burn the corners and head downfield. Every time he touches the ball he threatens to hit a home run. He's had a few muffed returns, but he's also had his fair share of large gainers. I like him as a change of pace back, but he seems a little bit fragile.

If McKnight is ever going to be successful as a rb in the NFL he's going to be successful with this oc. Now or never kid.

Interesting bit on Goodson here. Sounds like a bigger gamble than I originally anticipated. He's never had a 1000 yard NFL season, but he's always had a backup role. 6.3ypc is really good, but backup RBs often put up higher ypc than primary RBs. This should be a fun year. I'm pretty sure Goodson will be hit or miss. I just don't know which one.

With Goodson on the roster, expect to only see McKnight on Kickoff Returns. Goodson is an upgrade over McKnight at RB in pretty much every way. Dude is a threat everytime he touches the ball.

  8. Goodson gets alittle overrated on here.So does Ivory. Yeah both guys clearly have great physical ability as well as stats but neither has ever stepped up & carried an offense. We hope they just needed an opportunity & not that there's something missing underneath the hood.

This is the competition I'm looking forward to the most. Guard is our weak spot but we do have 5 guards competing for 2 slots. Peterson is 31 so, I wouldn't expect him to be a world beater or anything like that. I honestly I think Vlad Ducasse will beat him out, although Vlad + Peterman could be our starters this year. I bet we'll see Vlad on the list sometime this week. I was expecting him to show up yesterday or today. The only thing that worries me is that this guy has the same stregnths and weaknesses as Ducasse, so our pass protection may suffer as a result. I'm rooting for Winters and Ducasse to win. Oday will probably be ready the following year. I wonder how long before we see Ivory or Powell on the list (If they make it). I doubt Powell will make it, I can't see him as better than Goodson yet.

I think colon is a lock for one guard position. it will be interesting to see what winters can do. he is athletic and can pull. I would like to see him start since Peterman offers very little in terms of the future of this team.

You know your team is lacking in depth when Stephen Peterman is graded the 21st best player on your team. Really hoping it's Colon and Winters at OG.

I thought Hill would be higher on the list, but his drops cost us games last year and as soon as Holmes went down he became almost completely ineffective. I agree that Hill is perhaps the most important player on the team right now. If he develops, the rest of our offense should fall into place.

hill will be in the top 10 of this list next year. I know everyone screams about the drops but he is going to really shine this year. there was too much stacked against him coming in as raw as he was. marty will use him more in the short game where his size will break tackles and help him gain yac. Stephen hill becomes a #1 wr in this league this year

Interesting. So Powell is ranked higher than Goodson and Mcknight. He could just be the dark horse in this whole thing and win the starting job. I think he's capable. The RB competition is going to be another fun one.

I bet the entire top 10 is going to be defense with the exception of Mangold and Ferguson. Holmes would make it if healthy. Kerley will probably be 12ish.

Honestly I expected Winslow to be ranked higher. I suppose the lack of a real season last year and his injury history are part of it. Winslow is going to be a very important player for us this year. I'm certainly going to be keeping an eye on him. He's an X factor for sure plus he might give us some incites into the Pats offense.

Didn't expect to see Colon on the list. Still no Ducasse!

Is this list depressing anyone else?
Peterman and McKnight on our top 25....ugh.

We need the youth of this team to become effective quickly.

I'd like to see our rookies knock off at least 5 or 6 journeymen from this list (as rookies were excluded), and the 2nd year guys like Coples, Hill, Davis, and Bush all take a major step forward within the ranks of the team.
The last 2 rookie classes are the key to whether we rebuild quickly or painfully, as we don't have much veteran talent.

My prediction is that he'll be around 11 or so, near the top 10.

Barnes is another X factor. He could be huge for us, or he could be on the decline. I'm hoping he brings it back to 2011 numbers, although with Rex's schemes you don't always have featured pass rushers, as he likes to keep the opponent guessing. Our defense is going to be nasty up front.
