It's during tough times when a man shows his true colors and the way mr Kraft is perceived as a saint is fucking ridiculous. Everything with his dying wife, the moments up to her death and the events he's doing now shows how much of a coward he actually is. Just think of all the players the patriots have drafted or signed and were able to "change" the "patriot way"

Randy moss- not a team guy, left New England not a team guy
Albert haynesworth-gun issues, stomping on people's heads, where is he now?
Donte stallworth-killed a man with his car
Aaron Hernandez- murderer killing more than likely more than 1 guy.
    Spygate!

Assholes. From the owner down to the towel boy

AH, spent the last year shooting at and killing people. BB, has zero pulse of this team. I mean how does a head coach not recognize a star player on a destructive path? And when it gets ugly, like it has, what does this proud organization do? Turn there backs on their star player and release him. He pleaded not guilty, obviously the organization that fathered AH things otherwise. #patriotway

The "right thing" would have been to never support a known thug. Saying that releasing him was the right thing is like saying someone who is caught stealing did the right thing by giving the stolen goods back.

Btw I really don't give a shit that the pats or all the other teams employ thugs. They entertain me. I just despise people praising the pats as if they're somehow better than the other thug employers.

If you ran Pats, now you're fired.
Your job is to keep up the image the best you can. In this case it'd mean the strongest action available, and not commenting on how bad you feel for the victim is the cardinal sin, something that is bound to draw negative press.

You know it's funny that we agree on all points. Yes, once again Pats are not being noble, they just act the way that suites them the best. It's just that in this case this way happened to be the right thing.

It sounds that your main objection is my using word "praise" related to AH release. If that's the case, consider me taking this back, if you allow. I hate Pats just like any other guy and would love them to fall from media grace -- for this or anything else.

It was a no-brainer to cut the guy. They had to have already known about the other two shooting-related investigations pending against him.

All they waited for was an arrest.

The right thing would have been dropping him like a bad habit the second his name showed up in the headlines about this.

The only reason they didn't was an ill-timed 40 million dollar contract.

There was enough smoke in this case to let them know that there was a 15-mile-wide devastating forest fire approaching their back yard.

I wont argue it was the correct decision. The term "did the right thing" indicates some moral high ground to me. That's my issue.

They couldn't drop him the second his name showed up in the headlines, that would amount to admitting they knew everything all along. The knew, of course, but they gotta maintain the image and be able to deny.

You know, if you really look closely to the timeline, Pats got royally fucked by Hernandez. Drafted him fully knowing about the risks. I imagine there was a talk in the front office along the lines of "you're a rookie, passed 3 times by everyone. You walk the line or we cut your sorry ass and send a word around so that you won't get a shot anywhere". So Hernandez is being on his best behavior for a while, until the contract time.

Once the deal was done, no more best behavior. Shooting in FL and now this. Frankly it serves Pats well to get screwed like this. Knew he was a thug, drafted anyway. 3 years later he is still a thug... What a surprise.

No, I didn't mean any high ground at all. To me what they did was like stopping at a stop sign when the road is blocked by overturned semi -- they have no choice but to stop, but stopping at the stop sign is still right.

you guys make it seem like its a big thing for a team to draft a guy who has a questionable past.

this happens every year, there are tons and tons of guys with bad backgrounds and bad things in their past that get a chance, some of them succeed some of them go the hernandez route.

i cant shit on them for drafting a guy with a questionable background. everyone does it, at some point the risk reward evens out.

So if kendrick ellis were arrested for murder and the jets cut him do you think the media would be praising them for doing the right thing? Do you think Patriots fans would be talking about how the jets did the right thing?

No need to answer, we all already know the answer.

Character: Has never been a problem for Florida. However, there is the often quoted but never confirmed line from Urban Meyer during Hernandez's freshman year, "Aaron will either be in prison or a Hall of Famer."

I have one question. Who the F... did the background check on this guy and why hasn't he been fired yet?

If Hernandez was still playing on his rookie contract, I have no doubt that he would have been cut more than a week ago.

Since he signed that contract, he has been implicated in three shooting and three homicides.

The contract was the reason they waited so long.

I think that people are up in arms because the Pats are granted this squeaky clean, high-character image even though they have done little to earn it over the past decade.

I really don't care about that, mainly because I avoid the media, especially sports media, whenever possible.

But there was definitely a time in my life where I would be one of the people raging at the bullshit perception they are afforded.

Dont forget Aqib Talib and Corey Dillon plus ironically now that they sigened Tebow he is a great player and landed in the right spot. When a for the longest time after we let him go he would never find another home and he cant throw etc. Media blows!!!!!

You're correct on Talib, but Dillon hadn't really done anything but hate being a Cincinnati Bengal, and make it public, which I really can't blame him for at that time.

And he was able to get out of there and go to another team, and now he's wearing a Super Bowl ring for his efforts. Even if they did cheat to get it.

I'm sure this guy who was in the Bristol Bloods really did all of his coursework at a top 50 institution such as U of Florida. He and the 45, yes 45 other Gators arrested since urban Meyer took over.

How in gods name do these schools justify having actual gangsters on their campus to the academics? I mean, at what point does the money stop outweighing the filth?
