It's only perceived as doing the right thing by people who are ignorant to the fact that they knew was a thug all along. And that's how the media will portray it - as if they had no idea he was a thug until he was arrested for murder and then the pats immediately "did the right thing". Bullshit. What cap compensation did they get for cutting him? And maybe, just maybe, the case against Lewis wasn't as clear cut? i mean he did get acquitted. As to their actions being prejudicial, I don't see why that should matter to the Pats. If they have looked at the evidence against the guy and have determined he is guilty, that is their prerogative. They don't need to wait on a legal determination of guilty to determine for themselves that this is a scumbag they don't want close to their team.

Nothing like the fast food worker telling the multi-million dollar business how to do business. Considering you have nothing at stake in making your proclamation, you don't have the credibility to claim that is what practical decision to make. No matter what they did, they would be portrayed as the good guy. They were proven as cheaters 7 years ago and continue to get that Golden Boy treatment by national media.
This incident just showed the Pats to be a weasel organization we all know they are. drafts players of questionable background then don't have the backbone to stand by their players. trust me this will resonate with free agents and draftees going forward. I'm around ballers all day, I roll in that crew. I know how those guys think. Players see themselves as joining a family when they join a team and families that ditch at the first sign of trouble aren't organizations they wanna be affiliated iwth.
