According to Steve Silva and this is from twitter "Hearing via law enforcement source that Aaron Hernandez will be arrested in connection with the North Attleborough murder"
While all of us are deep-down thinking of this situation from a Jets on-the-field perspective, we can't neglect the fact that Hernandez was involved in a murder here. It's not like he is being suspended for PEDs. It's a bigger issue that isn't ready for "Jets for 2013 AFC East Champs!!!1" comments just yet. He's a fucking idiot to say the least in all of this.
Without using team names lets look at the three most circus-esque things that have happened this offseason with two teams and have people figure out which team seems more circus-like. Team A -very important (if not most imporant) player coming off of season ending injury who likely is going to demand far more than the team is willing to pay gets traded for fairly high first round pick and some change -they drafted a QB in the second round (which by many if not all accounts was a pretty good spot to get him) this QB subsequently fired his agent and hired a new agent, some investigation into the validity of this but, really, probably not going to be an issue -a recently signed FA RB was arrested while drunk as a passenger in a vehicle that had a handgun with hollowpoint bullets and some drugs in it, ownership of the gun and drugs are in question Team B -a very important and established player on the team has been connected with a homicide as well as being named in a lawsuit for shooting someone else in the face -the owner of Team B accused the president of a super power of stealing a Super Bowl ring -signed Tebow The Goodson thing is by far the worst on our end from an off the field and circus like atmosphere side of things and on that one it's not like it was Mangold or some established Jet it was a free agent and, furthermore, he was the passenger not the driver and ownership of the gun is questionable at best or rests with the driver by some accounts. There are dozens of players that get arrested for DUIs every year and he wasn't even driving! The media loves the Pats and hates the Jets. Hell, I saw a thing on NFL network which was counting down something (don't remember what) and they had Spygate in there. So I'm thinking "okay good, someone is finally going to give it to the Patriots." But no. They sat there are gave shit to the Jets for tattling on the Patriots. They gave them a pass on CHEATING. Could you imagine if it was the other way around? There would be protests to get the Jets kicked out of the NFL and be building statues of BB outside the head office of the NFL! But because it's the other way around it's the Jets who are the bad guys and the poor poor Patriots who got told on. It'd be laughably pathetic if it was so true and if people weren't so blind that they couldn't see it for themselves.
that is complete bullshit and your typical contrary nonsense. how far do you take it? that you don't want to beat any team because of any issue that somehow diminishes their talent on the field? that is the only logical progression of your asinine statement, because there is no reasonable reason to simply end it with arrests, and not injuries, or simply lack of talent evaluation. if you don't want the Jets to win if they aren't beating the Pats at their best, that inherently means you want the Pats to draft great players, sign great free agents, and be the best team possible, because if the Jets, for any reason, have an advantage over them than you don't want them to win because they are only beating weaker opponents. that is absolutely stupid. I don't give a shit about the non-field issues of other teams. it is their responsibility to put together a team that competes, and regardless of whether it is arrests, injuries or just lack of ability that keeps a team from performing better than the Jets, that is the team's issue to resolve or prevent. there is no difference in drafting a player who just isn't very good, or a player that is but has off-field issues that prevents him from playing. it is the Jets job to field a better team than the Pats, and that inherently includes not just talent evaluation but character evaluation as well. conversely it is the Pats job to do the same, and if the overall talent on the team is diminished because this scumbag is arrested, it is no different than had they drafted him and he just wasn't good -- the team failed in properly evaluating the player. like I said, the only logical execution of such a position is that you want every player on the Pats to be good, because you don't want to beat them just because the team poorly evaluates a player and he can't play, regardless of whether it is ability or any other issue.
no it isn't. we can discuss this situation purely from a Jets on-field standpoint. doing so doesn't negate the greater issue of a family that has lost a son, or a wife that has lost a husband. we just don't have to address every issue from its deepest social relevance.
Media also had field days with Rex footsie with his "married" wife, while BB was bangin' secretaries and cheating on his (classy guy BB). But Rex is the scumbag slob. Ok.
Bahahahaha. The Tebow curse has officially been transferred. The Patriots will collapse this year with Tebow starting at TE. I wonder why the media isn't calling them a circus or already saying Hernandez is guilty before the trial and demanding suspensions??? I can already hear the carnival music. Patriots are the new circus!!
I feel bad that football is everything to you. I want to win as much as anyone but right now the focus should NOT be on football. This man may have been involved in a murder, that's just slightly bigger than a football game and I can believe human beings are rooting for him to have done this so it helps our team. There are various times I am ashamed to be a sports fan, today is one of those days.
I accept your admittance that you can't dispute the fact that I have pointed out the ridiculousness of your argument and are thus dependent solely on deflecting it from the actual topic with your holier-than-though strawman by claiming my position is dependent on football being everything and a lack of social values, neither of which are true or what we are discussing. next time you can just save yourself the time and simply post that I am right, since everyone sees through your nonsense anyways.
"Aaron Hernandez Destroyed Home Security System and Phone, Sources Tell ABC News" http://abcnews.go.com/US/aaron-hern...-phone-sources/story?id=19445131#.UcNGkfmceHh He's guilty as fuck.
So apparently the murdered man was banging the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend. Looks like a pretty fucked up situation. I also saw the report that Hernandez is being sued by a man in Miami whom he shot in Feb. Seems like a really good guy. The real shame of this is that a man lost his life but at the other end will be how the media treats this. It's the Pats so we won't see them getting called out for the various scumbags they've had on the team over the years. As far as the circus... how can we forget Brandon Spikes having sex with that ugly girl on chatroulete or Julian Edelman groping a woman at a bar (charges were later dropped) I can't even imagine how the media would portray the Jets if one of our players was being investigated for murder. What a gang of thugs or Ryan breeds degenerates, instead in this situation it'll be the Pats have handled things the right way and Hernandez is a rotten apple among Grade A ripe ones.
oh boy, I feel so bad for people like you. I apologize, I hope all the pats murder people and get arrested so we can finally overtake them! Are you people human?
Yeah a couple hours ago I was saying to myself that this would all go away, he would come out clean. But now him destroying his home surveillance videos and his phone, plus the police is investigating why there was a cleaning crew hired to clean his house that same Monday. Yeah he is definitely looking guilty of something at this point.
The guy is already dead, nothing is going to change that. Hernandez was clearly involved even if he didn't pull the trigger (this time). People here just want to see justice be done on one of this nations true villains. If a side effect of the incarceration of a guilty scumbag means it brings down an organization Jets fans loathe and despise a few notches, theres nothing wrong with that. I promise you when Goodson got arrested Patfans werent saying OH thank god a drunk guy who had a gun in his car got arrested. It was ahahah eff you jets you guys look like jerkoffs Well now their young star is the biggest sports villain since OJ So they can suck it
If he is guilty (and his actions seem to indicate he is or at least he is destroying evidence that the police could use to find the right killer) then I hope when he went to Foxborough today (yesterday?) there was some kind of collusion with BB and Co. to help him cover it up, that that gets exposed and they all end up getting punished as a result. That would be epic. On a serious note I hope whoever is guilty gets caught. It may not be Hernandez but between the connections that we already heard about and now these reports of him destroying evidence it doesn't look good for him.
