I've posted plenty of football related replies, but when you make a statement that 8-8 is a losing season and that any idiot can see it, that's what you get.

If you had said "disappointing" or "crappy" or "deflating" or "awful" I would have agreed with you.

Not a fratboy, just able to do simple math. Sorry you're so thin-skinned, you don't seem to have a problem calling out those who you disagree with.

Speaking of big mitts, *just an fyi* Bart Starr used to work on his ball handling/faking skills by practicing with a basketball.

Before anyone kills Nacho over his ball security issues, let's look at this list of QBs with double-digit fumbles in 2012:

    source: http://sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/most-fumbles-and-fumbles-lost/2012/

Player / Overall Fumbles / Overall Fumbles Lost/ Own Fumbles Recovered

    Rivers - 15 / 7 / 2
    Nacho - 14 / 8 / 3
    RG III - 12 / 2 / 4
    M.Vick - 11 / 5 / 3
    Cam N. - 10 / 5 / 2
    A. Luck - 10 / 5 / 2
    Freeman - 10 / 2 / 1

Note that Rivers had MORE OVERALL FUMBLES than Mark, and yet Mark's fumbles were RECOVERED MORE than Rivers. Just like a QB who throws a nice, catchable ball, Mark fumbles a very recoverable ball.

    I'm a glass-half-full type person.

It would be beneficial for Nacho, to drop back holding a sheet of paper flat.

    Instead of a football?

I find it disconcerting that Sanchez hasn't clearly seperated himself from Smith. I know it's early and I know it's a "new" system, but he's a 5th year starter...there should be no doubt.

Maybe the staff is keeping him hungry...I don't know.

Oh...Cavanaugh went to Chicago. I'm sure he'll have an easy time coaching up Cutler.

I agree. This will be good practice for when he's handing out menus as manager of an Applebee's next year

Keeping his hands together. I was riffing off the Basketball observation.

And, there isnt a doubt. The haters will come running out to cry, but the fact is, sanchez is working on ball security, Smith, playing under center...thats by Lee, not me.

The team will not give Sanchez any level of comfort, because he clearly needs to be ridden, but if you believe Smith is startiing, in September...you arent paying attention.

Its easy to play Madden from here saying, cut the 5 pick, we just gave 60 million dollars to. While acknowledging, our offensive coaches sucked, and we had no talent on that sode of the ball...(how many RBs did Idzik hire).

Please. Geno, today..,is a prospect. Not a starter, not a savior.

It could be possible that Sanchez really is winning the competition handly, but the Jets organization doesn't want to announce that because the fan base will lose its mind if they know Sanchez is starting.. They want to fill those seats Week 1.. They will keep everyone guessing and won't announce the starter until 3-4 days before we play the Bucs.

I hope Sanchez can respond to being "ridden". I'm not impressed (lately) to how he's responded to any kind of pressure.

I never said Smith should start. This team needs to settle down and play good ball. The crap that the offense was putting on the field last year was putrid.

Cutlers about regress hard, I'm not feeling too confident in chicago right now... might be one of the teams looking for a new rookie QB along with Jville, Tenn, and Arizona.

3-4 days before week 1? no it'll be known a few weeks before that.

They'll want to develop some chemistry between starters for a few weeks, that and they'll have to focus GS3 on his role, either as a starter or as some read option dude or whatever. (if thats even done)

I give it week 2 of the preseason TOPS, we'll know who's the man by that point and time probably earlier.

Cutler will just ignore him like he did with Mike Tice. That's what I like about Cutler if he knows you are an idiot, he will expose you.

That has always been the case. Thats why Garrard was the competition. We were LUCKY to get Geno, but he is not the answer.

You have tostop looking at 2012. A non OC,OC, and i juries.

I would suggest, that MM will produce an oversll offense, close to the Jets RZ offense of 2011.

If only Tanny would have listened when Favre did that here.

    Cmon guys...really?

The guy starting week 3, (and week 2) pre season is your starter.

One QB, is working on ball security.(on the drop....)

The other, is working on taking snaps from under center, and getting the play call out in the huddle.

Put the hate aside, and tell me where the smart money goes.,,

By starter standards, Mark has too many things to work on to qualify. He is almost a prospect himself. All of the Sanchez defenders are defending him for the prospect of what he could be like with different circumstances.... The difference though, is that Sanchez is a 5th year "prospect" thats damaged goods.

I'm trying my hardest to forget 2012...but it haunts my mind.
It was worse than seeing my grandmother naked.

We'll see about MM's overall offense. Sounds good in theory, but the Jets have a unique knack for fucking up the best laid plans.

no hate involved, just being realistic.

We don't know how Geno will be in camp, while Lee stated he needs work he's also said he's done what he needs to at times as well, he just has to be consistent about it.

If the season starts tomorrow Sanchez is the guy, he's got the experience more so than anything else, Mangold and Holmes are used to him and support him, he's the familiar face he should be the default man behind center.

But the competition isn't over. If Lee or MM felt as though he had no shot of being ready come the dog days they would have said the competition is over.

why delay that? Why not shift focus with the guy instead of pretending he might get the start?

because they want to see more, they want to make sure that they really are going with the better man come the home opener. There has been a lot but not enough to convincingly commit one way or another.

Are you really trying to say that the Jets will have a top 5 offense...? Please no.

Hobbes, really? Might as well say the Jets will win the SB and Mark Sanchez SB MVP.

Close to top 10. Top 5 relies on far too many factors. Better than 15, close to 10.

You get 4 games, against the Pats and Jills defense.

I took crap for pointing it out, but Cincy isnt beating the world either.

Miami? Meh, they seem to be doubling down on FannyHill, instead of protecting him. Adding a LB, .....

Both Pitt, andBalt took ot hard on the defensive side of the ball, this offseason.

Pick one, thats half your schedule, with suspect defenses, and an OC, for the first time since Rex has been here.

    P.S.

Miami, and NE were near the bottom of the league in allowing YAC last year, which Morningwood predicates his offense on.

    Jets. Number 1. Without Revis.

And that is without factoring the symbiotic relationship between where it look like Rex is going with the defense.(back to pressure, hence more offensive opportunities)
