While I do not neccessarily have such a optimistic outlook as Hobbes, I do feel as though the Jets will surprise a lot of people this year. Many fans have already written us off as a guaranteed win, and I believe the fire in our boys is going to be burning bright this year, they are all carrying chips on their shoulders. I don't see why an 8-8, or a 9-7 season is out of reach. This team is far better than last years, and while many components are still a little rough around the edges, let them see some game action and they should be just fine. The only stretch that really has me worried is from week 5 to week 9. I'd say best case scenario, we win 2 of those games (Steelers, and Saints since we get them at home). We won't beat the Pats in week 7. I have us winning against them in week 2 due to the muddled TE situation over there, and I don't think the Jets are quite there yet to sweep the Belicheats. Regardless, I can't wait for preseason to see what we've got.
hobbes - love ur resiliency but some may think u are starting to sound that iraqi information officer years ago...... recall him saying we have surrounded the infidels.......pure gold. all in fun.
Makes me laugh when everyone looks at the schedule and assigns W & L predictions. Not only don't we know about each team yet (so many player and coaching changes in the NFL these days) every season there are teams that start great but play like crap later in the year, and vice-versa. It all depends WHEN you play them. We don't know which teams will trend in what direction due do injuries, etc. The only thing to be concerned with about is the travel schedule, short-rest, etc.
Of course we don't know whats going to happen, thats why it's called speculation. Whats wrong with making W/L predictions? No harm comes from it. If it makes you laugh, then why are you even reading a thread that discusses the upcoming schedule?
Baghdad Bob. Personally, thats what the pessimists sound like to me, Jil. QB, allegedly is our weak link. Ok, Tampa,,buffalo,Tenn. really? And a case could be made for taking the NE game. Middle of the sked, tough. The back end, minus a greatly reduced Baltimore team, isnt all that fear inducing.
The only comedic thing in this thread, is you tying your shoes without drooling on them. Someone....PLEASE...explain to me, which level of the defense, cincinatti has more talent at? None. Ok, now, we all want to yell Sanchez sucks..lI get it. Hes better than Dalton. te? A wash, RB? Id say the new crew gives the Jets an edge...and Jets outrushed them last year. WR? Cincy has AJ green, the Jets are deeper. Jets defense, against Cincy offense, jets, without breaking a sweat. Jets Offense, cincy defense, questionable, but the Jets get more opportunities. Edge, Jets. Basically, with no Jets offense whatsoever last year, Cincy finished 2 spots ahead defensively, and 4 ahead offensively. :rofl2: some powerhouse.
Burden of proof is on the person making the claim, not the person who says your claim is bullshit. I mean I could just go off the top of my head, better QB, better WRs, better oline, better safeties, RB & TE are questionable, Jets have a better D line and corner backs, but I'd say the Bengals have better linebackers at the moment. Unless this Jets team gets a lot of people to step up in the right positions the Bengals ARE a better team. A lot of it depends on the rooks and 2nd year players. (COPLES, DAVIS, Richardson, HILL!!!)
Jets are better at every defensive level. Not a question. Dalton, is not a better player than Sanchez. Calling them even, is charitable. I did acknowledge AJ Green, but after that, if Holmes, Hill and Kerley are on The field, the Jets are deeper.
Insanity.. We aren't comparing defense to defense you fucking moron we are comparing team to team - defense is not even half of a team. The Bengals have a productive QB The Bengals have a star WR = and don't just bring up Green because they have good WR's besides him The Bengals have a great TE The Bengals have a promising HB The Bengals have a above average D unit The Bengals have a above average ST unit Don't sit here and tell me a team that made it to the play off's when we didn't isn't a better team. And don't bring up the BS about how their schedule was like this, and we were under this amount of circumstances because at the end of the day. THAT team has more skill players - THAT team has more upside and THAT team would kick our ass... If Sanchez started of the Bengals you wouldn't even BE a Jet fan. I love the Jets till the death of me,but we cannot beat Cin. as of right now.
How the fuck are you going to make an asinine claim and tell ME to defend my position. That's not how the world works, buddy.
What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you truly believe the fucking bullshit you're spewing right now? I'm not going to waste my time shredding this argument.
How can you say the Jets are deeper at WR, when Hill is still dropping passes like it's his job, and Holmes is currently injured, leaving Kerley and Gates as our go to guys. Our WR core has way too many question marks right now. If we don't bring in another WR I will be shocked. Dalton was better than Sanchez last year in ALL categories and it's not even close. Nearly 10% higher completion percentage, 20 higher in QB rating, 800 more yards, 14 more touchdowns with 2 less picks... but that's somehow even? I know, stats mean nothing, right? The Bengals are winning that division this year.
Lets start with the retardedness first. Other WRs? Besides Green? Really? The Bungles cannot field the equal of Holmes,Hill,Kerley. And, who...if I may be so bold, os this GREAT TE you speak of, it aint Gresham or Smith..,,did I miss someone? Promising HB? Yes, the drafted GIO. Ill take Ivory, who has actually, you know..,PRODUCED in the NFL, and survived on a pretty good team...Ray Maualaga, is their best defenisive player, and he may be better than Harris. We are unknown at safety, but...which coach is the better bet there? Corner? Dont embarass yourself, Cro isthe best corner not named Revis. Now we get to QB. Your first issue. 2012, was a year with no OC, and every first team pass catcher out for some period of time. 2011, dalton and Sanchez put up similar number, dalton a little better, but.,,,Sanchez led the Offense to number two in RZ efficiency, now, last I checked, you have to score to win games, and Sanchez dod it 32 times in 2011. So, calling the guy unproductive is either dishonest, or ignorant.
The Bengals very well may win the division. Their schedule is nice, in terms of tough teams in conditions unfavorable. Their season, it seems....rests solely on how they handle Balt and Pitt, and Im no believer in Pitt this year. But, they will lose to the Jets and the Pats. The game that should be interesting for Cincy is @ Det. Det gets a shit ton of homer calls, and plays dirty, defense on offense. Of Iwere Cincy, Id stsrt Skelton in that game :rofl2: Man, I love the darksider hate on our roster.
Because you cant. Its a simple fact that team wise, Cincy was barely statistically better than the Jets, who were in complete disarray on offense, last year...
Do you enjoy wasting your time type ? you make ZERO FUCKING SENSE Hobbs. Go fight Katie Upton for a chance to suck his dick. Sanchez is a good person... but he won't ever be Dalton and Dalton isnt the greatest so that pretty much sums up what sanchez is
Wow....you are really mentally retarded. I cannot believe this. Quick eye test of the schedule tells me that Cincy has not had a game in which they scored less than 10 points and only had 4 games in which they scored less than 14. Dalton only had FOUR games in which he threw less than 200 yards. One of them, was a meaningless game against the Ravens in week 17. Please...your love for Sanchez is blinding you to common fucking sense. The Bengals were better than the Jets offensively by a large margin
