Giant Lucas Duda bunting so funny. It would have been funny regardless of the score but it's especially funny in a 2-1 game. SMH

And the Mets continue to lose to the garbage of the National League.

Duda bunting sums up the futility of the Mets.....a bumbling leaden footed OF who can't field trying to Kay down a bunt.....is it Sept yet....

I can see us being active at trade deadline to get players under control for next year....woukfnt be surprised to see the likes of Duda( better suited as a DH) , marcum and buck all traded...we may have to throw in a pitcher like Gee or Hefner to get above average

Thing is even a hitter hitting.240 would be an immense upgrade...oh and if he can lead off even better!

What the hell? Nieuwenhuis with a walk off 3 run jack to win it in the 9th? It's a Father's Day miracle!

    I blame Bob Costas.

BTW, so glad that Wilpon thinks the franchise is on the right track.

Seaver is more like it. Please don't wish an injury-plagued career on Harvey. I'm not a Mets fan, but Harvey is the Real Deal. No matter how good or awful the Mets are, they always come up with a world-class ace on their staff. That is their history.

Harvey's no hitter ruined in the 7th. Heyward tapped one up the first base line and no one covered first

The parallel is clearly with Seaver - a solidly-built power pitcher who gets his power from his legs and his butt.

And there's a hit because Duda the idiot doesn't stay at first on the infield dribbler to Harvey and he tosses it to nobody as a result.

It would've been a tough decision anyway because Harvey's pitch count was too high to go 9 and it would've created the situation where you take a guy out after 8 or whatever with a no hitter still going.

A few deep counts by Harvey and the Braves strike out a ton (they easily lead the NL and trail only the AAAstros in MLB) so Harvey racked those up as well. Led to an elevated pitch count despite few baserunners.

If there ever was someone who has DH written all over him (assuming he can hit well enough) it's Duda. The Mets need him to hit so they can trade him to an AL team over the winter for some solid bullpen help or an outfielder.

I heard another stat today, this time from the Braves broadcast.

Harvey and Strasburg are the only 2 MLB pitchers who allowed 2 or fewer runs in 28 (?) of their first 34 starts

Valdespin walks with the bases loaded to make it 3-0.

Harvey at 103 pitches, hitting for himself

Guess he's coming out to start the bottom of the 8th.

    4-0 after a sac fly

    can the bullpen hang on?

Between the bullpen and the crappy defense nothing is assured.
