Once again, Sanchez does not make decisions quickly... Or should I say, he does not make great decisions quickly. I dont see how a scheme that calls for quicker decisions to be made fits him well, let alone will help his ability to cut down on the dumbass decisions. Hes capable when there are 2 reads, but once the field is opened up and multiple reads are introduced, I have a hard time believing he can cut down on the turnovers and poor decisions. Personally, I see that falling into Geno's skillset more, but thats a whole other discussion.
Are you really going to argue that we lost that game vs the Titans because of the defense?... Please no.
I haven't seen the real question being asked by anyone. I don't care if Smith goes or not but exactly WHO is going this year? If there really is a divide in the locker room then that will tell a lot by who is there and who isn't.
The GM is before the defense. Is Reading Tough for you. Jeff fucking Cumberland, was your 1 reciever. With no real two. But.l..giving up a 90 plus yard run...? Really? Like a 90 plus yard catch to the vagiants. Or a 21 yard td run to Tebow. Or a 13 yard run to Locker. Or a 12 minute 6 3rd down drive to Matt Moore, Last I checked, the chest thunping has been on the defensive side of the ball. Is it too much to ask that they bring home a game once in a while?
Decisions? You are joking right? You cant make decisions, until the routes are complete. Penny, made good decisions till when?
Hobbes: With the Tennessee game, you DO realize Sanchez had 4 (5, but the last one was at the end) turnovers. The defense allowed ZERO points from those turnovers. Tennessee only scored 14 points. To blame that game on the defense is asinine.
Can we seriously stop turning every thread into a Sanchez debate? This is getting ridiculous. There is a 500+ page thread dedicated to the guy. Go there.
Man, if you are going to act like that game was lost more by the defense than the offense, then you are delusional. We were in that game up until that very last fumble from Sanchez. His fucking 5th turnover of the game. 5 turnovers. You arent winning any game with 5 turnovers from your QB alone. You're really going to point out one touchdown by Locker? What, the defense has to be flawless in order for it to live up to your standards? That sure is a hell of a double standard from one side of the ball to the other. Im not sure if you realize, but the defense can not always stop the opposing team from scoring... Just like how the offense can not always score. one thing is for sure, the Jets defense kept us in enough games to where we had a shot a better record. Stop exaggerating. Schotty was not great, but dont blame Sanchez's sub average QB play on the length of the routes. You can come up with a better argument against Schotty than that.
It was no secret that our rushing D was weak last year. The linebackers were old and slow. Thomas was hurt on and off, Bart Scott had that toe issue for a large portion of the year. We couldn't set the edge for shit. Overall the D was good, not world beaters like 09 but our secondary held it down. DL & DB were pretty much the only strengths of our team last season. Don't get me wrong the offense was decimated with injuries, but there's no question which unit was worse. That "season ending" fumble on national TV after a gift and great field position with little time to go felt worse than 10 fumbles. There might as well have been. Even great defenses allow 14+ a game. It's going to happen regardless, the offense has to put up points. You can't keep blowing every single opportunity.
Yes. Hard to read the box score without seeing it. Who, was available to catch the ball? 2 of the turnovers were attempts to get to cumberland, who...by that time, was the only reliable pass catcher on the field not named Kerley.Kind of a tell for the defense.
Like I said, the Tenn, game was directly the fault of the GM. Players play, Coaches coach, but when you field a JV squad in the NFL...you are going to get bent over. That box score is a whos not of Receiving. http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=321217010 As I said, that might be the only 4 int game, you cant puton the QB, that Ive ever seen. Edwards walks in off the street, and Cumberland...gets 9 targets...?
guys seriously, why is every fucking thread about sanchez now? seriously, geno is now going to jets west, this thread should be closed or something
I'm going to be very kind about this. You are a moron if you think that game is NOT Sanchez's fault. We lost by 4 points. That's not getting bent over. We nearly WON the game with practice squad caliber receivers including a wonderful punt from God himself, and Sanchez blew it. Hell, take away one of those turnovers, and we win the game.
