Ok, I'm not usually one to go trying to pick up any old "shirt" off the street but considering the legal issues with our one back and the fact that McGahee was Denver's leading rusher last year....do we: A) find out why he was release (medical) and B) if sound bring him in for, the very least, training camp to compete Thoughts folks??
Competition is already fierce at RB between the 4 guys we have on the roster. Mcgahee has an injury history & would not be a speed upgrade from last season, which is important moving forward. Let these young talented backs duke it out.
Agree with Kurt. Let's give the young guys every opportunity to succeed. If they don't, or get hurt, we can always pick up veterans and free agents down the line.
ESPN: Broncos release McGahee Do you think the Jets should bring him in???? http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9379931/denver-broncos-release-rb-willis-mcgahee
I'd rather spend the money at WR, given the choice, but he could just be a good pickup if the price is right.
pass. no upside. the m.o. is to pickup young hungry buried on the depth chart guys. not old stop gaps trying to get 1 more year. ivory powell goodson mcknight will be solid at worst.
Assuming Goodson is aquitted on those charges, I say pass for now. McGahee has more mileage on him than a 40 year old porn star.
I have to agree here. Our most pressing need is WR at the moment. We have no idea which Santonio Holmes will be coming off the injury and right now, we have almost no talent at all sans Kerley at the WR position. That's why our QB's are having such a hard time adjusting to the new system as they really don't have anyone to throw the ball to that can actually hold on to it. Since we don't have tons of cash to spend, we'd better spend it wisely.
