Has anyone picked up anything by Flying Dog Brewery? We picked up a six back the other day because it has a Fear and Loathing design on it and we couldn't resist. It was a porter which I'm generally not a huge fan of, but it was really good. I want to try some of their pale ales though.
Was just up at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown and bought Three Philosophers.... damn good. I like their Abbey Ale as well.
I know its tainted by Anhueser bushy bush but I cannot stop drinking goose Island IPA lately....now you know
I graduated from the MHL hmy:. Right now I am into the summer sesonal beers. I like Sam Adams Summer Ale, I also like Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy . As far as craft beer goes, I've been drinking a lot of Arrogant bastard ale.
Dogfish Head 61 Minute Dog Fish Head 60 Minute and Syra Must (wine). Pretty cool. Was expecting more. Easy drinking with a hint of wine. Noble Rot is an awesome summer beer. Its 60 minute and viognier grapes that have been infected botrytis. Its almost like sparkling wine. Crisp and refreshing.
ole Red White & Blue  Try Sierra Nevada's SummerFest........no fancy bullshit, just a good lager beer. Tried some for the 1st time the other night, popped one, the next thing I knew, they were all gone :drunk:
A fav of mine is Sammy Smith's Pale Ale (UK). I actually prefer pale ales over IPA's. St. Peter's Old Brew Porter is ridiculously delicious porter from UK. Not heavy. If you like crafty's or just prefer many choices of brews, the only place to go (unless someone else knows else) in Monmouth County (East) is Spirits in Middletown or Red Bank. It's a liquor store super market (literally). I usually try something different every week but try to stay away from the high ABV beers. I find them a tab more bitter the higher the ABV and i don't want to get blastered after drinking 1 pint.
I love Sprits in Middletown. Actually I'll probably stop there on my way home from work later. Disagree about the high ABV beers though - I usually purposefully select the higher ABV beers. Just a matter of preference I guess.
My coworker brought back four packs of Heady Topper for everyone in the lab. It was fantastic. If you like IPAs that don't taste like they're trying to shove a bushel of hops down your throat, I'd also recommend the Ballast Point Sculpin. It's hard to find, and pricey, but worth it.
Good summer beer i just had this wknd is Sixpoint's (brooklyn) "Sweet Action", kind of has a ice-t/lemony flavor to it. Highly recommend for these upcoming sweat fest days ahead of us.
A few too many 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon last night. And to finish the night two Sixpoint Resin's. Should have just stuck with one..... ouch
Top Row I think sixth from the right is Avery Maharaja it is a Imperial IPA and it is limited in release to I think twice a year. My local shop just had some in I bought 8 of the 12 he had. If you like an IPA you cant go wrong with this one. It comes only in a 22oz bottle and retails for about $7.99-$8.99. Give it a shot you cant go wrong.
