Geno Smith is a very talented rookie who was drafted by a new front office and will be given every opportunity to take that starting job. Rookies are rookies so I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he weren't ready, but he is 100% absolutely a threat to Sanchez for his job. You may not want to believe it, but he is absolutely a threat. You're fooling yourself if you don't think he is.
The players get a month off between mini camp and training camp in Cortland. Players and coaches aren't even allowed to communicate during this time. I've always liked Sanchez (and his family helping out) hosting his receivers for a few days all on his own dime. New offense? New Tight Ends? New running backs? How in god's name could this NOT be beneficial???? Cry yourselves to sleep all you want over his turn-overs, but to slam his Jets West is just retarded.
One thing working towards Geno's advantage (not so much over Sanchez, but moreso the rookie learning curve) is that he learned and mastered a new college system each year he started. If Geno Smith had some experience in a West Coast offense, I think he could be ahead of Sanchez. Some people have to realize that Geno has only had the playbook for a little over a month or so. Im really interested in seeing how much he has mastered by the time TC starts.
Of all the stupid comments in thie monumentally moronic replies in this thread, this is the moronically stupidest. _
stokes you are beginning to act a little bit like a douche. i think calling out bradway is probably not the best idea for a guy who has yet to cut teeth on this board. i sometimes agree with you, sometimes disagree. these last few comments seem a bit out of character for you.
I never said you were the BIGGEST moron in this thread--but if that's what you took from my comment, then kudos to you. Lets go though this in small bites. Assume we are all Jet fans--I know that is a stretch, but even with your hate I assume you have a modicum of affiliation towards the team. All of us--well MOST of us--want what is best for the TEAM. That means Sanchez, Geno, hell McElroy playing as well as possible. Having ALL of the Jets getting together--regardless of affiliations or agendas or choosing sides--would be the absolute BEST thing for the TEAM. Not for Sanchez. Not for Geno. For the TEAM. If you don't believe that, you are NOT a rational fan. These guys should be competing but should also be helping each other. If Sanchez extends the olive branch just like every other year--even with Tebow--then Geno damn well better be there. It's about the TEAM. Not about some moronic fan's agenda. But feel free to continue to hate. _
I am certainly not a douche. That is hurtful. But questioning Jets West because of the competition between teammates that are going to need to work together is simply moronic. It's a fan's perspective--not a TEAM perspective. Let these two guys work it out amongst themselves--we don't need to make sure they choose sides at this juncture. That may seem douchey to you but I assure you it is not. _
No,Don...what I said was, if its that obvious to Cimini...who profits if story is to continue...that even a dullard should get it.
No. What you read was.... Today, Sanchez finally kept his left hand on the ball. Geno, is still getting footwork down. But.,,thats hardly the point. Lee, is walking the company line. Ok. sanchez is learning to cut out 8 fumbles. Gee.... Smith, is learning the basic physical rudiments of the offense. As I said..if its obvious to a douche like Cimini...you should be able to read thru the lines... You have a hard onfor Geno. Great. Buy a jersey. But ignoring the basic facts....when theyre as prostrate as a 2 dollar whore, is...letting your bias get the better of you.
Holy shit, stop calling me a freaking hater. If I were a hater, I wouldn't be wasting my time on here talking about a team I 'dislike'. This is almost as bad as 'you're an average fan with bad reading comprehension' by nyjunc.
