Hahaha...... Gotta love it...... This is why James is so overated. He would rather pass than shoot. He dosent have that killer instinct. His game is predicated on slashing to the basket and dunks. The reason he can do that is because the 7 ft centers are extinct in the game today. Centers nowadays are 6"11 and don't block shots. Back in the day, every team had several 7 footers......
Battier is not just missing. His shots are not even close. right they got hot at the right time I'm just saying by regular season numbers they were not a good 3 shooting team neither team would've gotten far had they shot like they did during the season
While both blowouts were fun to watch since they both happened for the home crowd, I want another close game throughout like game 1. I really want to see how the Heat, specifically Lebron come out to start the game. Lebron has to shoot and make jumpers to make SA change the strategy. Heh, SA doing the seven nation army it sounds like
teams rarely had more than two 7 footers, and having more than one who was actually skilled was pretty rare. It was a big deal when it happened, like when SA had Duncan and Robinson. I'm not sure there are less seven footers than there were 15-20 years ago. Less elite centers, sure.
I mean Lebron James is the best player in the game. Give credit to the Spurs and Dallas and the teams that can make him look normal or even bad. It's tough to do. And defenses now are more complicated than defense of the past, but hand checking is gone and etc etc. Lebron would be a great player in any era if he grew up in that era. The jumpshot has always been the weakest part of his game. The mental problems with his jumper coupled with almost too much unselfishness is the way to attack him. Pop has been saying the whole time Lebron should listen to people (specifically the ones say he should try to score more) and play his way. Do I think Pop is playing mind games, yes. The defensive strategy has been to let him play this way and force him to make the pass which is usually the right play. Yeah okay, makes sense. And yeah Battier is ice cold. I wonder if Spoelstra will bench Wade or cut his minutes.
Rodman said LeBron would've been an average player in the 1990s. Dennis Rodman is not a very intelligent individual. LeBron is one of the most uniquely talented basketball players ever. You could easily argue no player in history could match his combination of skills.
Gotta love analyst. The same people who hopped back on the Heat are hopping back on the Spurs. Ill celebrate the win tonight but time to get back to reality. Its 2-1. If we win the series I can celebrate these wins for a lifetime, till then....
Never heard AT&T that loud, ever. I've been waiting for Gary Neal to really find the groove for a while. This game made it worth the wait. Miami intimidated the shit out of me last game. Couldn't ask for a better response from the Spurs. I hope they keep it going. Goddamn this cab smells like puke.
The Spurs finally getting the attention on the big stage, this is big for the NBA. Kill that "boring" label.
What I meant was two on the same team. Not starting. I guess when I have time, I can research the centers height of 20 years ago....
Dwight Howard and Marcin Gortat was another example (recent) of a team having two centers who could play (although Howard isn't seven feet tall). Gortat was obviously backing up Howard and didn't get starter's minutes. The Lakers had Pau and Bynum. The Rockets had Hakeem and Ralph Sampson. The point is, while many teams have had a pair of seven footers, usually only one was any good. There are plenty of seven footers in the NBA today. Few are dominant inside forces.
I don't want to get too excited, but I like the Spurs chances of splitting with the Heat in the next 4.
It's the calf. He's been dealing with it since before the playoffs started. I'm concerned about it getting too tight, but it's not a terrible injury, just one that needs some time. Unfortunately, time isn't on the Spurs' side.
I've got a few things to say. 1, That was the best game I watched all year hands down. 2, I hope Parker is ok. 3, 16 3's? I live for 3's in basketball, sweet record. 4, ...and 16/32 from the 3 point line? WOW. The Spurs 100% earned my respect, and then a ton more, must be amazing to be a SAS fan tonight.
It's his hamstring actually and he is getting an MRI today. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...n-antonio-spurs-vs-miami-heat-game-3/2414099/
