There's also the fact that twitter is super annoying right now because everyone is talking about a 3rd string QB in NE.
Brian Costello @BrianCoz 52s Winslow looked pretty good in practice. Bigger question is how his body reacts now. Can he stay out there? #nyj I don't think it's crazy to think this guy could put up at least Keller numbers if healthy. It would be a nice cheap alternative.
If he's healthy, he might match Keller's numbers just based on the fact that he'd be the only guy on the field to throw to.
Would also give the Jets a more viable multi TE set to play with. I am rooting for H. Smith to step up, but at this point you have to think its a long shot for him to contribute in any amount this year. I think Reuland is nice enough depth player - able to do a bit of everything, but again he isn't going to put any fear into anyone. Winslow & Cumberland combo has to be an improvment.
So Geno did well and Sanchez was inconsistent. SURPRISE SURPRISE. BTW, Hill is a waste of a pick. I don't care how fast you are. If you can't catch, you're not a good wide receiver. Winslow, Davis, and Rodgers would make excellent receivers.
I came into this portion of the offseason being pretty pessimistic, then from all the reports you hear about this draft pick being great and so and so rebounding and etc. I became a bit more cautiously optimistic...but now the more I hear the worse and worse it sounds from the offense. I know it's early and they need time to gel and learn the playbook, etc. etc. but things like nagging injuries and dropped passes have nothing to do with learning the playbook. Honestly I don't know what other teams are doing and they probably don't get breakdowns on "sacks" and "almost INT" (whatever that means, it is or it isn't) at this point in the off season so maybe this isn't completely out of the ordinary league wide...but it makes me slip out of that cautiously optimistic zone and heading back to being pessimistic again.
Good to know that one dropped pass in one mini camp session that you only heard about completely made you pessimistic.
I'm really searching for offensive optimism. so far, i'm optimistic about Morningwood and Ivory. We really need some guys to be surprises... Geno Smith, Hayden Smith, Austin Howard, Brian Winters, Goodson, Winslow, Hill, any one of the 5 or so unproven WR's... who is going to step up and really surprise on that O? We need a few to do so...
I actually feel good about our offense. As in, we won't lose games strictly because of them. We will actually be able to score more than 10 points a game, that's for sure.
Seth Walder tweeted that Geno went 4-7 with three sacks and second team while Sanchez went 4-8 1 sack and first team.
Please, please please Hill get it together for training camp. We need you to be a deep, consistent threat. I don't want this story to be J Lamb Jones part 2. Super fast with poor catching technique.
I wouldn't want to waste too much time on him. We have other receivers (Marcus Davis, hopefully Kellen Winslow, et al) who can make a catch. Use them
Between Winslow, Davis, and Holmes.....i wonder which will be the most self-involved player on the roster? i hope those guys come in with a serious attitude adjustment, as we may very well need all 3.
The issue should be why Mark is performing slightly worse than a rookie... 5 years and these are his 'stats'?
I guess you missed the tweets that said receivers were dropping passes left and right. Or perhaps those don't matter when you're trying to advance a narrative?
