Who has done that? I admit I haven't read all 500 pages of the Sanchez slander thread, but I can't believe anyone would make such a comparison with a serious face. I could see somebody saying that maybe Sanchez will reach that level some day, but at this point any direct comparison of ability is silly.
I did. Young specifically. Young p,ayed in the USFL. Went to Tampon Bay...and was so good they let him go. Tampa Bay....then he got a decent coach/system, rode pine, then flourished. The Sanchez defense, at least on my terms, has been more or less about the horrid coaching weve had, but.,.ive been making that argument since Pennington was here, as have many of the Sanchez detractors, who now have short memories.
They will not bring in Edwards, because it would be a defacto endorsement of Sanchez, which they are rightfully trying to avoid. If the staff goes with Sanchez, expect to see Edwards in a Jets uniform.
Nice logic. You left out the 6 tds he legged in. Your math may be different than mine, but 32> 28. Net win. 10 fumbles, is..however retarded...especially when he knows the RT sucks. Thats inexcusable.
If it's all on the coaching then let me ask you this, How under the same coach did Pennington complete 65% of his passes with regularity and NOT throw interceptions but Sanchez can't complete 57% of his passes and turns the ball over repeatedly and often (89 turnovers compared to 80 TD's) if it's all about the coaching and not the players ability then answer that...without backtracking and double speaking your way through it.
Well so far it looks like sanchez is winning the compitition. The Jets quarterback competition may not be as competitive as they were hoping. While nothing would be more convenient than for rookie Geno Smith to walk in the door and make the job his own, that apparently hasn’t happened so far. According to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com, the second-rounder “hasn’t blown anybody away, the way Russell Wilson did last season when he walked into the Seahawks’ facility.”
:rofl2: Not throw interceptions? NOT THROW INTERCEPITIONS. .??? http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PennCh01.htm There are Pennys stats. Why dont you explain to the class, what Pennys TD/int ratio was pre schotty, and during schotty, and post schotty. Without double Speaking and backtracking. Penny, may have been a more accurate passer, but two things are clear with your example, Schottenheimer breeds interceptions, and you dont let facts get in the way of an argument.
The whole competition thing is unfair to Geno. It was a sham from the time they signed Garrard, and when he (predictably) pulled up lame, they thrust the weight of the idiocy onto Geno, and....exactly as I predicted, the NY media, will now turn their negative attention to the next guy in line. It would have been far better for them to blame the lack of competition on Garrard being injured (again), and silently hope that Geno played lights out and took the job, however unlikely that was. Now, the predictable story line is being written, "guy couldnt beat Sanchez, and he sucks, so..by extension"
How does that mean he's winning? Nobody has said that Sanchez is lighting the world on fire either. If Sanchez isn't separating himself from a rookie, he shouldn't be given the starting job
See above. More media setting up their story lines. Once Sanchez isthe starter, one bad game, and the story wont be Sanchez. They have already trashed him, the story will be.... "if the Geno Smith selection had panned out the Jets wouldnt be stuck with Sanchez" Bookmark it.
Geno will win the job and excel. Your boy will be devastated. CAN'T. WAIT. How will you backpedal from that?
What? Hobbes is a Jets fan if Geno wins the job and excels he will be happy. Geno is not Luck or RG3 and does not come out of a system conducive to the NFL. Lets not rush the kid like we did Sanchez let the kid learn how to be an NFL QB. I as does Hobbes think Sanchez has not been put in a position to succeed the last season and an half and has had inadequate coaching since day1 and with a competent coach and system has a chance to be very good. I love how Vick went front washed upped cant complete a high % of passes (lower than Sanchez) then is a top 8 QB with Marty and then sucks again when his line struggles. If Marty can get Vick in a discussion of top 8 QBs and completing 60% of his passes he has a great chance with Sanchez.
It was a value pick. If the Jets thought he was a sure-fire franchise QB, they would have taken him 9th or 13th or traded up to the top of the 2nd round. They waited and Geno fortuitously was there for us. Best QB in this class (a mediocre class for QBs) so the value was there. No doubt he has talent and MAY be the man and we got the benefit of him being there at 39. _
Because he fell into theor laps, and lets face it, if anything happens to Sanchez, your season is f@@@d with our current bench, plus...geno in time just keeps tighteni g the leash, in a way McElroy or Simms never will,. But that wasnt my point, try to pay attention across threads. Part of the Sanchez hate, is media hype. Now, they are doing it to Geno, and the unlucky bastard hasnt taken a snap.... Thats the point I was making. The media douchebags see the writing on the wall, so the new narrative is, geno must suck bc he couldnt beat out Suckchhez. Get it? (big clue.... NY has more Vagiants fans than Jwts, so negative Jets stories sell more headlines, until they are not possible)
