See I don't get this point of view at all. Kerley had 56 catches for 827 yards last year with no other professional WR's on the field for the last 12 games of the year.

It's not like he was flying under the radar and getting catches because Holmes was drawing the coverages. There was nobody else on the Jets that caused teams to double-clutch at all after Holmes went down and Hill didn't just recede into the background he got hurt also.

The Jets need to have somebody opposite Kerley if they play him but he did pretty well last year with nobody else to take the heat off.

Exactly. They do one for every team. Calling Kerley a "secret superstar" hasn't suddenly made him a better player. He's the default selection. They have to choose someone.

I really like this idea.. cut off cap and keep a decent WR corps.

He played well, I am a big fan of his but we aren't winning anything if he's our #1 WR. if Holmes is back to normal and if Hill is healthy and improves we will have a pretty good trio.

I think the Jets are probably drafting a WR #1 or #2 next year and that they'll probably keep Holmes for the year assuming he is recovered from his injury and that the WR corps in 2015 is likely to be the 2014 draft pick plus Kerley plus whoever stands out from among Hill and the young guys on the roster now.

The only WR on the roster right now who looks like a long-term keeper is Kerley. He's at the right price. He's also very productive which is something you can't say about anybody else except Holmes at this point.

    Imagine
    #1 - Marquise Lee
    #2 - Stephen Hill
    #3 - Jeremy Kerley
    #4 - Zach Rodgers
that would be a hell of a WR corps. if Hill progress nice and Kerley keeps doing what he does.

Cute article, unless Gino workouts to be a diamond in the rough, we have zero tallent on the that side of the ball. All the teams tallent is on Defense.

Mike Devito was actually pretty good, and everybody jumped the gun on Maybin, he should have never been so highly regarded in the first place.

I guess one can just think in absolutes like that, not like we don't have Mangold, Ferguson, or Kerley. The offense is in no way an area of strength, but zero talent? What an overstatement.

I think that's a bit of an overly optimistic claim. Hill has shown me almost nothing that makes me think he can be good starting WR in the NFL, in fact he's probably shown me more to support the other side of the argument. He's got hands of stone and poor body control. From what I've seen, his incredible speed seems to be almost entirely of the straight-line variety, while lacking lateral quickness/agility (which I'd argue are more important in football).

Not to mention the fact that you're banking on an undrafted FA in addition to Hill. I do like Kerley though.

i didnt say zach will turn out to be a good slot. i said if.
as for hill, he had the rookie year i expected him to have minus the injuries. if he had the same year for any other team there would not be any bust talk. the drops stand ojtbecause we are emotionally invested and they hurt. hill gets open, alot. he made spectacular catches in college and killed the jugs machine drills at the combine. his problems last year were mental and will cure thems selves with experience.

Bastards ruined it. It's clearly not a secret anymore. Shhhhhh.

I love Kerley though. He could be a really productive player for the Jets for years to come.
