we played on good fields in the reg season and they swept us, they were just better than us that year unfortunately.
That maybe somewhat true, but Shula was afraid we were a faster team, so he took our speed away by letting the field flood, Mike Adamle walked on the field and showed the water was over his ankles...a total disgrace by the head of the officiating committee who coincidentally had the least penalized team in the league for 30 years..
Shula always got the breaks but Miami earned homefield in that game so it's hard to complain. It sucks b/c I is definitely a game we could have won but we did lose 3 times to them. If we had beat them twice on good fields I could buy that reason a little more but either way they did earn homefield and used it to their advantage.
Understood Junc, but just beacause they won the first two doesn't guarantee a win in the 3rd, Shula was worried
I'm sure he was and nothing was guaranteed but we did play on the same field. The field was pretty messy a year earlier at home in our WC loss.
the situations were a little different, a snow plow came out to dig a spot for the FG. They didn't have any machine dumping water on the field for our game, did they?
Wow. Stone Hands. Noodle Arm. The walking Vagina sprain. And the once longest tenured Jet. (its kind of comical how small Chad looks compared to the others)
